You’re So Sweet ~ Swirly Bird Stamp Set

I’m a little behind, but here is the third design from my August Card Class.  Let’s just get it out there and say that the Swirly Bird stamp set is just “so sweet”.  Lol!

I found the inspiration for this “Sweet Rolls” design on Pinterest by Krista Thomas and ran with it.  LOVE Pinterest and a big thank you to Krista Thomas.  The 3-step stamping of this stamp set give loads of detail to whatever project you create.  I took her inspiration and ran with it, by adding:  the Early Espresso scallops, the white emboss powder and  Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter to give a frosting look, the fun mini-striped ribbon and changed the sentiment.  I also cut out the Sweet Rolls and popped them to add more dimension.  Gotta have me some dimension!  (grin)

BASE:  The base starts with Watermelon Wonder.  Next, it’s topped with four (yes, 4) Early Espresso Scallop Squares from the Layering Squares Framelits.  Take two squares and overlap two scallops.  Then take those two scallop rectangles and overlap nine scallops (leaving 6 scallops).  This is then popped with Dimensionals -WAIT to apply to card base until after completing and applying the Sweet Rolls.  [Added dimension – Step 1]  Finally, top with a layer of Whisper White.

SWEET ROLLS:  On the same size Whisper White as the top layer, stamp the boldest image in Soft Suede 6 times (stamp off first).  Next, stamp the middle image (which has more detail) with full strength Soft Suede directly onto the previously stamped images.  Then stamp the third image (with the most detail) with VersaMark and heat emboss with a mixture of White Emboss Powder & Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.  Shine and sparkle all in one….LOVE IT!  [TIP:  Make sure to let the Soft Suede ink dry thoroughly before stamping with the VersaMark AND make sure to use a Stampin’ Buddy before stamping with the VersaMark ink.]  Next cut away the outer white (unstamped) edge areas.  Then apply to the Whisper White card face with Dimensionals.  [Added dimension – Step 2]  Finally, wrap with Watermelon Wonder Mini-Striped Ribbon.  NOW you can apply this to the card base with Dimensionals.

SENTIMENT:  The “You’re So Sweet” is from the You’re So Sweet stamp set.  (This cracks me up as I’m proof reading it, but I’m going to leave it in.)  Mask the surrounding stamp area with scotch tape, ink up with Early Espresso.  Don’t forget to remove the tape before stamping onto Whisper White.  Then die cut with one of the “Scallop Top” Tags & Labels Framelits.  Then pop the tag with Dimensionals [Added dimension – Step 3] and top with a ribbon knot.
