Your Presents – Shopping Bag

Youre Presents - Shopping Bag 120dpi

Happy hump day, yes, that’s what day it is!!!

I had a wonderful time Saturday prepping for our local Holiday Catalog Stamp Together.  Where demonstrators get to see, touch, and yes play with loads of new items from the new Holiday Catalog that goes live on September 1st.  If you haven’t gotten your catalog yet, just give me a jingle and I get one to you.  😎

I was honored to be asked to help design for this fun event.  I selected the “Your Presents” stamp set, “Winter Wonderland” Designer Vellum Stack and Gold Cording to to design with.  This is the first of three sneak peeks I’ll be sharing with you.  When I first was flipping through the printed vellum stack (it has AMAZING gold and silver printed designs on vellum) I saw this gold stripe and new I wanted to make a gift bag.  We were tasked to make sure we used our stamp set on each design and the adorable bow is one of the stamps.  I think is just ties everything together.

CARD BASE:  The base starts with Basic Black.  I fit the card to the bag size, so the card is 3-3/4″ x 4-3/4″.  Next, I layered Pink Pirouette onto Gold Foil then popped the layers with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

FOCAL POINT:  The adorable bag is Basic Black layered with the Gold Stripe from the Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum Stack.  [TIP:  I used “vellum tape” to adhere the vellum to the cardstock.  I used just a small square in each cover to hold the vellum in place.  If you use regular adhesive it will show through and liquid adhesive may make the vellum warp.]

BAG FINISHES:  First is the “tissue paper”, which is a strip of Pink Pirouette that I applied the Faux Suede technique to (one of my go-to’s for subtle texture).  I just crumpled it a bit and taped it onto the back.  Second are the Gold Cording handles.  I did tape one handle to the bag first, then I applied the “tissue paper”, and then I taped the second handle to the back of the bag.  This was applied with Stampin’ Dimensionals as well.  Finally, I topped it all off with this cut Basic Black bow that I heat embossed black onto Basic Black cardstock.  This gives a rich sold look.  Then I die cut the bow shape with the coordinating framelit from the Handpicked Framelits Die Set.  I did pop this cutie with a couple small pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals for even more height.  Lol.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I hope you have enjoyed my ramblings and will stop by again soon.  I enjoy reading your comments and would love to hear what you think of this ditty.  I hope you have a great Wednesday!  Take care.
