You Send Me Soaring Baseball

500pxl Botanical Bldr Framelits 1

Howdy stampin’ peeps!  I hope you had a good weekend.  We had fun attending live music on Friday and Sunday night.  Portland is known for it’s blues music scene.  I’ve grown to appreciate the hard work and dedication these musicians have and it makes listening to the music that much more enjoyable.

I did get to play in my studio this weekend on designs for my February Card Class as well.  Woohoo!  Today’s post is a fun twist on creating something unexpected from a totally different stampin’ tool.  If you’ve done any perusing on Pinterest you’ve probably seen loads of samples using the Botanical Builder Framlits dies.  Well, I was playing with it as well (will be posting a sample soon) and thought “hey, the vine edge die looks a lot like stitching” and that’s how the baseball with born.

BASE CARD:  The card starts with a Night of Navy base.  Next the Real Red Face was die cut with one of the larger circles from the Circles Collection Framelits then embossed with the Lucky Stars embossing folder to add needed texture.  I wanted to add “more height” so I popped it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

FOCAL POINT:  I cut a Whisper white circle from the Circles Collection Framelits Dies one size smaller then card face.  Next I sprayed the circle with a Frost White Shimmer Paint / rubbing alcohol mixture to add a subtle bit of sparkle.  (Even guys need a little sparkle is their lives.  Lol!)  Then I cut two Real Red Leaf Vines.  I used the smallest end so the stitches didn’t look too big and adhered them on either side of the sparkly circle at slight archs.  I popped the baseball with Stampin’ Dimensionals as well, to add more dimension.

SENTIMENT:  Finally, I stamped “You Send Me Soaring” from the Sale-A-Bration Sky Is The Limit stamp set with VersaMark onto Night of Navy.  [TIP:  Remember to use your Embossing Buddy liberally to help release the extra embossing powder.)  Then heat embossed with White Embossing Powder.  Next I punched the ends with a 1-1/4″ Circle punch and popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Even though the baseball is shimmery I felt it needed a wee bit more shine.  So I added a few Gold Sequins.  Ahhhhh!  Just right.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you have a great Monday!  Until next time, happy stamping.
