I had a wonderful, relaxing on Saturday getting together with fellow demonstrators (and friends) for our monthly meeting put on by our amazing BZB leader Barb Brimhall. We played games, did a little stamping and even got to see a few sneak peek items from the new 2016-17 Annual catalog that goes live on June 1st. Double Woohoo!!! I really enjoy getting together with fellow demo’s that love the same thing I do and sharing what we love. [smile]
This is the first design we created in April’s Card Class. With Mother’s Day only a few weeks away this card makes for a sweet Mother’s Day card. It’s spring feel with lots of color and of course the polka dots are very girly. [grin] A big thank you to Julie Kettlewell for her pretty card that I couldn’t help but CASE, I did go with a different sentiment. This made my day…..my mother attended class this month and she gave both her cards away and she asked that she receive this card for Mother’s Day. Yay, love you Mom!
BASE: It starts with Whisper White, layered with Melon Mambo and Mossy Meadow with White Polka Dots from the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper. [TIP: Don’t forget to wrap the Melon Mambo Ribbon around the layers before applying to the base…….just sayin’ Lol!]
FLOWERS: The sketchy flower and leaves from the Birthday Blossoms stamp set go well with the irregular shaped polka dots Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper. I pulled my big girl panties up and colored the flowers and leaves with an Aqua Painter brush in Watermelon Wonder and Mossy Meadow ink. (I did a happy chair dance when I had finished. Lol!) I did a light wash on both the Watermelon Wonder and Mossy Meadow, then came back over the areas that had extra lines that look like shading with the colors in full strength. The Pansy punch makes punching the flowers out super easy. The leaves were fussy cut, they are an easy shape to cut out quickly if you keep it loose, so I was okay listing to the whining. [grin] BUT, when they were done cutting the leaves they said it wasn’t as bad as they were thinking it was going to be. Lol!
SENTIMENT: The second largest oval from the Ovals Collection Die set was die cut from Whisper White. Then stamp “World’s Best Mother” from the A Nice Cuppa stamp set in Momento Tuxedo Black. The oval and flowers are popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals to add that all important height. Lol! Finally, to add just a bit of sparkle I brushed the flower centers with Wink of Stella Clear Glitter.
Thank you for stopping by today. Did you enjoy today’s card? If you did, I’d love it if you’d leave a single word that describes how this card makes you feel. I hope you had a great weekend and have a great Monday!
