Woohoo……Spring has finally sprung! I had fun creating my Well Said Happy Birthday Butterfly bright and bold design. This card includes many cool techniques that can help spark your design mojo. [smile]
I have fallen in love with the new Granny Apple Green color. I paired it with one of the new 2018-2020 In Colors, Blueberry Bushel. This combination is bright, cheery and very gender neutral. [TIP: Leave off the butterfly and this would make a great masculine card.]
Both the Gingham bands are from the 2019 Sale-a-bration Designer Paper Botanical Butterfly. It recently retired but I just loved it so much I used the blank & white design brayered with more of that fun Granny Apple Green. Love it!
I also included two types of embossing:
The first is dry embossing……this is on the Blueberry Bushel rectangle that I first cut using the Rectangle Stitched Dies then embossed with the Subtle embossing folder. This was layered onto another rectangle in Basic Black that I tore the edges to give even more texture. [sweet!]
The second is the butterfly. I heat embossed the image with VersaMark and black embossing powder. Then I colored with sponge daubers using those wonderful Granny Apple Green and Blueberry Bushel inks.
Finally, I topped it all off with Happy Birthday. The “happy” is from the Well Written set of dies along with the Well Said stamp set, that I am ecstatic both are carrying over. Woohoo!
I appreciate you stopping by to check out my Well Said Happy Birthday Butterfly card card and hope that you have a great day. AND that you are inspired to get your hands inky!
