So Many Sparkly Stars

So Many Sparkly Stars

I enjoy taking a stamp set and creating something completely unexpected. As I was perusing the new 2019 Holiday Inspiration Catalog. I fell in love with the So Many Stars stamp set. The catalog inspirations shown are geared towards the Christmas Holiday Season. Today’s share “So Many Sparkly Stars” is my outside-the-box take on the So Many Stars stamp set

EMBELLISHMENT: With fall having arrived here in the Northwest my creative juices were leaning toward Halloween. I was trying out the Shimmer Black Emboss Powder. After embossing and die cutting the swirls & stars, the sparkly black look made me giddy. I then wanted something to pop against the black, Granny Apple Green jumped out at me.

I was looking to add more shine and decided to spritz the Granny Apple Green with a mixture of Frost Shimmer Paint and rubbing alcohol. [Perfect!!!] After cutting the same swirls & stars I started layering onto a band of Basic Black. I loved the look. At this point I had an embellishment that needed a home. Lol!

BASE: Layering the embellishment onto the Granny Apple Green layer made the stars pop. [Sweet!] Well……what goes great with black and green ……purple! When I pared this embellishment with Gorgeous Grape I did my happy chair dance. To add the finishing touch I gave the new Scripty Emboss Folder a try. OMGosh! This emboss folder is THE BOMB! It was the perfect subtle background. What do you think?

SENTIMENT: To finish the design it needed a sentiment. I had leftover spritzed Granny Apple Green and decided to use it. Looking at the sentiments included in the So Many Stars stamp set I felt “the stars are shining brightly” would be the perfect fit. I was strong and ended up cutting apart the full sentiment “O, holy night, the stars are shining brightly” and embossed it in plain black. Finally another cool item in the new 2019 Holiday Inspiration Catalog are “black” dimensionals. WHAT? Yes, there are now black dimensionals to use with dark designs so you hardly see them. I used them on the green stars and the sentiment. Woohoo!

STAMPIN’ SUPPLIES:

Here’s what I used: STAMP: So Many Stars; PAPER: Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green, Basic Black; INK: VersaMark; ACCESSORIES: Dies–Stitched Stars |Emboss Folder–Scripty 3D| Punch–1-1/2″ Circle | Emboss Powder–Shimmer Black & Black

When I had finished my design I showed it to a friend and she said “hey, it has a “wicked” feel.” I didn’t even see that. Very cool! I’d love to hear if you thought I hit the “wicked” feel OR if you love the “Scripty” emboss folder like I do.

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you’re inspired to get your fingers inky. Have a great day!

Piece of Cake Macarons

Piece of Cake Macarons

Yup, these macarons were created using the Piece of Cake. When I first saw the Piece of Cake stamp set I knew I wanted to create something totally unexpected. I was playing around and thought “huh, these look like macarons. This Piece of Cake Macarons card is cute as well as brite.

I clear embossed the image in three bright colors (Gorgeous Grape, Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo), then I added a very narrow strip of sparkle glimmer paper. Of course it needed more sparkle. Lol!

Instead of dry embossing the Gorgeous Grape square I added texture by stamping Gorgeous Grape ink onto the Gorgeous Grape Square using the Burplap Background Stamp. It is now retired but the new Crackle Paint Background Stamp would make a great substitute.

The Wood Textures Designer Paper used for the Macaron plate backdrop has also retired but the Birch Background Stamp would make a good substitution. Stamp the Birch Background in Sahara Sand onto a Whisper White square.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you have a great day and are inspired by today’s Piece of Cake Macacons design.

You are Fabulous Paint Palette – January Class (4 of 5)

Work of Art Palette

Gooooood Morning Pinkstampagne Peeps!

Well it’s raining like cats and dogs here, but my morning is good so far.  😎

I had seen this Paint Palette on the internet many times and had saved it in my “give it a try” folder.  Well, when I saw this paper design in the Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series Paper pack available in the Occasions Catalog it instantly reminded me of paint brush strokes, then I thought “that would be perfect with the punch art paint palette…….this card was born.  Lol!

The Whisper White makes a calm base for all the color in the Birthday Bash paper.  After I had put together the paint palette and placed it on the DSP the palette was not the focal point.  The DSP paper was just a tad too bright soooooo I was thinking how can I tone the colors down and make the palette pop?????   HEEELLoooo velum, yes, I took a sheet of velum and placed it over the DSP and I was doing my “happy chair” dance.  Lol!    The palette (I believe) is the 3rd from the smallest from the Ovals Collection Framelits with a 1/2″ Circle punch and part of the Wing from the Bird Builder punch.  The paint brush is the Word Window and the Wing from the Bird Builder punches in Basic Black and Smoky Slate.  The sentiment is from Work of Art stamp set, which I stamped first smack dab in the middle then punched the finger holes.  Next, I clear heat embossed Daffodil Delight, Tangelo Twist, Rich Razzleberry, Bermuda Bay and Old Olive and then punched out 3/8″ circles.  I really love how this design turned out and thank you to all those inspirations online.  My Pinkstampagne stampers loved making this card in class.  If you are in the area feel free to check out my class schedule and come stamp with us, I’d love to meet and stamp with you.

Have a great Monday!
