Happy Wednesday and I hope you’re having a good week so far!
This “sweet” card features a bold image from the Countless Sayings 2 photopolymer stamp set. This is my first try at the Ombre technique. I used the Dots mask from the Dots & Stripes mask set. This was quite fun and I learned I need to use less pressure on the dauber when I’m swirling. I used Strawberry Slush Core’dinations for the top and cut at an angle to give a bit of subtle texture and interest. The “Sweet” was stamped with Momento Tuxedo Black and colored in with a Strawberry Slush Marker. [TIP#1: When stamping with black make sure to use our Momento Ink Pad (as it doesn’t stain the photopolymer stamps) and stamp on a Paper Piercing Mat to give a solid stamped image (you can use this tip for any stamping, really). [TIP#2: You could also use a blender pen and ink pad if you’d like a softer looking color.] I considered doing the ombre effect on the “Sweet” but thought it would compete too much with the dots (I’m glad I didn’t). Then I fussy cut the sentiment and popped it with Stampin’ Dimentionals onto the Pink Pirouette band that I also placed on an angle. I was looking at the card and thought “not too shabby” but it needs some sparkle to finish it. Lol! I had my a-ha moment when I placed a narrow strip of Silver Glimmer I had sitting on my work table. Yes, I have bits and pieces of glimmer paper laying on my table for just such sparkle emergencies. LOL!
Thank you for stopping by this fine hump day and I hope you have a great rest of your week!
