I was having fun designing with the Sweet Ice Cream bundle. You can see my two previous designs here (Happy Birthday Bowl of Ice Cream) and (Sweet Ice Cream Pop-Up). I had been looking at punch art bears on Pinterest and was inspired to break out my punches and create this Sweet Ice Cream Birthday Bear design.
For the bear pieces I used punches and dies: Punches: Ice Cream Builder | vintage–Small Oval, Circles–2-1/4″, 5/8″, 1/4″ & 3/16″. Then I used the Stitched Shapes-Large Circle in Soft Sea Foam and Layering Circles-Scallop in Bermuda Bay for the bear to rest upon.
For the bear and background I used the fun and bright Old Olive and Bermuda Bay splotchy watercolor Ice Cream Corner printed paper. TIP: To tone down the brightness on a too bright background layered a piece of vellum over it. This is what I did, it makes the punch art bear pop even more. The “Happy Birthday” is part of the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set. I stamped it onto a 1″ Basic White strip in Bermuda Bay. Then I punched with the Banner Triple punch.
When I finished this design I was doing my “happy chair dance”. It made me happy and it was colorful to boot. Anyone who receives this card will smile.
