Happy Stampin’ Friday! I don’t know about you but I LOVE CAKE. My favorite is Angel Food layered with fresh sliced strawberries and Whipped Cream. Mmmmmmmm! Today’s Sweet Cupcake Candy Dots card was inspired by an adorable cake I came across on Pinterest (you can check it out here). It is just the sweetest and when I was finished also made me think of Candy Dots you used to get on strips like stickers. The soft colors get brighter and darken after clear embossing and give the feel of those sugary sweet Candy Dots. [Woohoo!]
BASE: What can I say…..I just love the long and narrow card size these days. [grin] The base starts with Flirty Flamingo that is 5-1/2″ x 6-1/2″ folded in half to end with a 3-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ size card. It still fits into an A2 sized envelope but there is less space on the inside to fill. Lol!
SENTIMENT: This sweet sentiment just hits the spot, don’t you think? It is from the Sweet Cupcake stamp set which I heat embossed onto Vellum with VersaMark ink and White Embossing Powder. I decided to round the corners to soften and tie in the “tab” with the Candy Dot circles. [TIP: Make sure to adhere this to the band before placing the band, just sayin’.]
FOCAL POINT: It starts with a Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer band layered with Pink Pirouette. The “dots” are Flirty Flamingo (Yes, this is Flirty Flamingo), So Saffron and Pool Party embossed with Clear Embossing Powder and then punched with 1/2″, 3/8″ and 1/4″ circles. I just love the way the circles look at the angled placement. Yummmmm……sugar! I couldn’t help myself and had to pop the band with Dimensionals. HELLO…..It seriously needed height. [grin]
I hope you enjoy today’s sweet dot design. Thank you for stopping by and have a great Friday!
