Sprinkles of Life Planter

Potted Plant Sprinkles of Life

I’m welcoming Friday with open arms!  I am super close to a “prize” from Stampin’ Up! and I am participating in a special Retired BOGO sale starting this evening at 7p PDT.  All my newsletter peeps are “in the know”.  Feel free to contact me if you’d like more information.

Today’s design is the third Make-n-Take I created for our Safari Retreat last month.  I think they were all a big hit and was glad everyone had a good time making them.  I tried to use the bits and pieces of the Sprinkles of Life stamp set in the not-so-usual ways.  Yes, the tree is a tree, BUT I actually think of it as a plant in a pot.  The “pot” is really an ice cream “cone”.  A little bit is trimmed away from the top.

CARD BASE:  It starts with Wild Wasabi with a layer of Pool and then Shimmery White.  The Shimmery White was sponged with Wild Wasabi on the bottom (dabbing) and the clouds where sponged with Pool Party (Swirling).  TIP:  After punching the tree leaves shape use the leftover as a mask to sponge the clouds.  Put tape over all the punched shapes EXCEPT the “tree” shape.

FLOCAL POINT:  I wanted to make the potted plant the focal point.  The Plant Leaves are stamped in Wild Wasabi onto Pear Pizzazz.  TIP:  To add more texture, I randomly splotched Wild Wasabi ink onto the Pear Pizzazz cardstock with my Aqua painter and let dry before stamping and punching.  The Plant Base is Soft Suede ink stamped onto Soft Suede and the Plant and Base are punched with the new Tree Builder Punch.  Woohoo!  Then I stamped the “Ice Cream Cone” with Soft Suede onto Cajun Craze (I wanted a terra cotta look).  You do have to fussy cut the “cone”.  It is just a bunch of straight lines, not too bad.  Lol!  I did pop the cone with dimensionals.

SENTIMENT:  Is from “Flower Patch”  and is stamped with Soft Suede onto a strip of Shimmery White with the ends notched and popped with dimensionals.

I hope you enjoyed today’s fun and summery design.  Thank you for stopping by and look forward to reading your comment.
