Good Friday Morning stampin’ peeps! I live in Portland, Oregon and we are smack dab in the middle of Rose Festival. Last Saturday was the Starlight Parade that also has a pre-parade fun run, then Wednesday was the Junior Rose Festival Parade which lets young-in’s make their own floats and what-not, finally, tomorrow is the Rose Festival Grand Floral Parade. I believe it is only second to the Pasadena Floral Parade (ie, floral parades). It gets a bit crazy downtown, businesses reserve the space in front of their stores with duct tape and people will even camp over night to get the good spots. My mom used to take us when we where kids and it was amazing to see all the floats, marching bands, etc. The funniest part this year is the Grand Marshall of the Starlight Parade. It is the PDX guy. What?….. you say is that. Well…..the PDX airport is in the process of replacing all the carpet and I guess the carpet is famous for I guess not being too obnoxious. So someone rolled some up and slapped some eyes, cap and necklace and now it’s a Grand Marshall. CRAZY!!!! Lol!
Well, today is my second post featuring new items from the AWESOME new 2015-16 catalog. (If you’d like your very own copy feel free to contact me.) It features the Ronald McDonald Stamp Set “Sprinkles of Life”, Coordinating Tree Builder Punch (Yay!), Designer Series Paper Stack – Cherry on Top (6″ x 6″) and one of the new In Colors – Watermelon Wonder.
MAIN BODY: The base is Whisper White layered with Bermuda Bay and Pool Party, as well as a strip from the new Cherry on Top DSPS.
FOCAL POINT: The bowl is the #4 Oval from the Ovals Collection Framelits that I folded in half and trimmed away a 1/4″ on both side of the fold (ie, you get two bowls from one oval). The base is from the Note Tag punch. The “scoops of ice cream” are Whisper White, Watermelon Wonder and Soft Suede all stamped with Smoky Slate ink and punched with the new Tree Builder punch. The scoops are accented with Dazzling Diamonds glitter, BUT I colored the Soft Suede scoop with coordinating glitter that I colored myself. You’re thinking “Hey, I’d like to do that”……well let me tell you how. I used Dazzling Diamonds glitter and several drops of Soft Suede reinker and mixed with a disposable spoon until well coated. I let it sit overnight to dry, just to be sure I didn’t get ink all over my hands and the card. Lol!
SENTIMENT: It is one of the many included in the Sprinkles of Life stamp set. It is stamped with Smoky Slate ink onto Whisper White and punched to size using the Note Tag punch. I wanted to show other ways to use the Note Tag punch other then for just a tag.
Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you have a great weekend and have enjoyed today’s design. I’d love to hear if you enjoyed it.
