Happy New Years Eve to all my sparkly Pinkstampagne friends! As I get ready to say goodbye to 2014 and hello to 2015 I want to thank everyone who came by and left all the wonderful comments this year. I enjoyed reading (and responding) to each and every one. You guys make what I do such a blast and I look forward to sharing more with you and hope you’ll come back in 2015.
Today’s post is a spin on the card I posted a few days ago. Click here to see it. I had such a fun time when I was working on the design and I needed a tag for December’s Craft Project Central Sketch Challenge, this tag design just came together in no time. The best part is when you give the card you can attach this tag to the gift bag. How cool is that? LOVE IT!
The base starts with a Silver Foil Starburst Framelit die shape, then I sponged around the edges (very lightly) with Stazon-Jet Black to give that saw blade feel (what a great guy way to get some bling). The edge of a saw blade is more dull from being ground or something like that (that’s my story and I’m sticking to it). Lol! Next are layers of Basic Black and Wild Wasabi (I don’t use this color much, but it was a perfect fit here). I colored the slice of wood from the Wood You Be Mine stamp set (available January 6th) with……can you guess???……Blendabilities – Neutrals and the new Pink Pirouette family (available in the new Occasions Catalog starting January 6th). I used the lighter brown for the bark color and after it dried for a few minutes I came back with the same color and drew the vertical lines. Next, I used three of the “neutral” shades to color the rings. I put the lightest color over all the rings (except the center heart), then the dark on the outermost ring and finally the medium color on the next two smaller rings, leaving the 2+ rings closest to the heart the lightest color. I’m starting to get the hang on how to use these guys. I added the sentiment banner to tie the card and tag together and I also wanted to add the cute little heart that I punched from the Confetti Heart Border Punch. I topped it with a Whisper White 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon tie just for good measure.
Thank you for stopping today, by this last day of 2015! I hope you have a Happy New Year and can’t wait to hear from you (and stamp with you) in 2015.
