Sneak Peek – Festival of Trees (2 of 3)

Festival of Trees - Crumb Cake

Happy Friday Eve everyone!  We made a Costco run yesterday and ended up getting a large package of steaks and two of their package-o-chicken breasts.  We were “foodsaver”ing for over an hour.  Needless to day, our Foodsaver machine was tired by the time we finished.  I love mine mine to death!  We also picked up a lovely piece of Halibut and had that steamed for dinner along with corn on the cob and baked potato.  Yummmmm!!!

This card is the second of three I made featuring the Festival of Trees photopolymer stamp set.  I am truly amazed at how many different looks you can achieve from this set.  Today’s, although the tree and ribbon are traditional the base makes this feel more rustic.  The card base is Crumb Cake with the “a merry little wish” stamped in Early Espresso.  I placed a small strip of the new Cherry Cobbler 1″ sheer linen ribbon with glue dots to anchor the tree.  The tree was stamped on Whisper White with Old Olive ink then I wiped off the “trunk” and colored it with a Crumb Cake marker, and then punched with the Tree punch.  The tree was popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Next I stamped the Tree Stand on Whisper White with Early Espresso ink, fussy cut and placed with a Stampin’ Dimensional.  I had waiting for a reason to try coloring our pearls with the new Stampin’ Blendabilities and tada!  I colored them with the darkest Cherry Cobbler and I think they turned out shiney awesome!  After placing them on the tree I think they look great, but next time I’ll use the medium size.  Finally I punched a small star from Gold Foil cardstock and tied a Linen Thread bow and applied them with glue dots.  I hope you have enjoyed these two cards and will come back tomorrow for the third.  See you then!
