Happy hump day my stamping peeps! I attended a fabulous Stampin’ Up! local event last night “United & Excite” and let me tell you it well fabulous! I sometimes get into a funk and my design mojo runs away for a little break. This event and all the wonderful people that attended gave me a load of inspiration and kick in the pants. In a good way. Lol! The next couple of days I’m prepping for our local Handmade for the Holidays, New Holiday Catalog Open House. I’m am happy to say this new Holiday Catalog has helped me get out of my design funk. I had such a fun time designing samples for display boards (which I could “Carol” up as much as I wanted) and simple but “WOW” projects for our Card Buffet. If you’d like to see some wonderful inspirational samples (by other awesome demonstrators as well as myself) or get a head start on your holiday cards (click here) for more details or to register.
Now on to today’s post……..This is the first of three cards I design featuring the Festival of Trees stamp set. There are five different trees to choose from, so you’ll five one the you’ll fall in love with. It also has several images to decorate said tree (from top to bottom). AND it comes with a couple sentiments to round out this beautiful photopolymer set. PLUS……it comes with coordinating tree shaped punch. Yay! This started out as a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 size card, but when I completed it, it was calling “please make me a tall & narrow” card. So that’s how the size came to be (3 x 5-1/2). Lol! The centered vertical strip is embossed with the Lucky Stars Embossing Folder. The tree is stamped with Garden Green, I opted to just stamp the ornaments and sentiments with Real Red. You’re probably thinking……why didn’t I heat emboss these in Cherry Cobbler. Well……I did seriously contemplate it, but I wanted to emboss the tree top star in Silver, so I just felt it would be too much. Yes! I know, there can be too much. Lol. I added a wee bit of Whisper White Baker’s Twine behind the tree for a soft texture and popped the tree, star, and sentiments with Stampin’ Dimensionals for height. More height is a good thing! Lol!
I hope you have a great rest of your day and Happy Stamping!
