Good Monday morning! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Last week was crazy busy for me but I was doing two things that make me happy.
First, I helped a long-time friend with his 50th birthday celebration for his wife (another long-time friend). I made 60 vanilla cupcake with fresh strawberry buttercream frosting, topped with a fresh strawberry slice; then enough potato salad and coleslaw to feed well over 30 people. Lol! When the picnic finished Saturday afternoon I was pooped. Shew!
Second, Sunday I jumped into project designing. Yay! I created a revised version of my Christmas in July design for a Christmas mail swap. I am so thankful that I only need to make 20 of these. The pieces are all cut and ready to assemble. THEN, I started designing for another two swaps using items from the upcoming new 2016 Holiday Catalog. Sweet!!! I completed three designs featuring one stamp set now I just need to design three more featuring a second stamp set. I make 10 of each design, for a total of 30 for each set.
Well, now to the fun stuff, today’s post is a clean and simple Sassy & Sweet”hearts” design that was inspired by these cute hearts on came across on Pinterest.
BASE: To keep the hearts front and center I went with a vellum base in a long & narrow size (3-1/4″ x 5-1/2″). After placing the front band with the Sassy & Sweet “hearts” I placed a Flirty Flamingo band (a 1/4″ wider) inside centered beneath the front band.
FOCAL POINT: The Sassy & Sweet Framelits sweet hearts along with the sweet colors just make this card sweet as well as sparkly fun. I used Flirty Flamingo, Pear Pizzazz and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer sweethearts layered then placed onto a textured Whisper White (vintage) band. I popped the largest hearts with Dimensionals as well as the smallest. I had envisioned a four square arrangement with hearts in each square similar to my inspiration. While I was working out the color layers this layout fell into place and I went “this makes me happy”. [Happy chair dance ensued. Lol!]
SENTIMENT: Keeping with the clean & simple look I used the “It’s your day” from the Sunburst Sayings stamp set. I stamped it with VersaMark ink and embossed with White Embossing Powder. [TIP: Definitely make sure to use your Embossing Buddy before stamping with your ink.]
I hope you enjoy this sweetheart of a card. Thank you for popping by today. AND have a great Monday!
