Rose Garden Thank You

10 500pxl Rose Garden Thank You

Yo!  It’s Friday!  Woohoo!!!  My “day job” is hosting a night ski for all the employees.  Now I haven’t skied in about 25 years and I don’t really want to chance breaking something.  Lol!  So while most everyone is going to have a fun time up at Ski Bowl, there are a few that opted not to go.  Even though I’m not skiing I do get to leave early.  Woohoo!!!

On that exciting note, here is my sparkly Friday design.  I posted a short and sweet video on my Facebook fan page previewing this sparkling beauty.  [You can find it at Pinkstampagne]  It features the Rose Garden Thinlits Die and the Sale-a-Bration What I Love stamp set.  When I first spied the Rose Garden Thinlits Dies in the 2016 Occasions Catalog I knew that the “frames” created would be the most used.  I thought to myself “the leftover petal pieces would be great for a second use card”.  Well, last month we created a beautiful sympathy card with the rose frame in Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper and I asked everyone to put their leftover petal bits into a bowl for me.  They did a great job and I have LOTS of pieces to work with.  I was thinking to go Black & White but I just wasn’t feeling it, then when I added the Silver Satin Ribbon I went “aaaah”.  This made the Smoky Slate base a perfect fit.

BASE:  It starts with a Smoky Slate base.  The Basic Black face was layered with the Diagonal Hash design from the Everyday Chic Designer Series Paper.  While most of the designs in the pack were too “busy” for this design I found this one and it add visual texture while letting the sparkly rose be the focal point.  [grin]  Next wrap the Silver Satin Ribbon round the card face, taping the ends onto the backside.  Now you get to adhere the face layers with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I love the subtle shine the ribbon adds without competing with the sparkly rose.

FOCAL POINT:  I wanted to add more depth so I started with a Basic Black circle layered with a second slightly smaller Basic Black circle.  Next lay a Rose Garden outline frame (I cut this from a scrap I had lying around) centered onto the the circle.  Starting from the outer edges working toward the middle apply small dots of liquid glue to only a couple pieces at a time then place into the open spaces.  After placing a couple petals carefully lift up the frame and finger press those pieces to make sure they are firmly set.  [TIP:  Almost always I peel away the plastic backing from any Glimmer Paper making it easier to die cut and adhere.]  Of course the circle is popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Lol!

SENTIMENT:  The “thank you” is from the Sale-a-Bration What I Love stamp set stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a narrow Whisper White strip, cut a vee into the end for that banner look.  The banner is adhered directly onto the ribbon, tucking under the circle.

Hey, thank you so much for stopping by today.  I hope you enjoyed today’s design and until next time……Happy Stamping!
