When I first saw the Project Life Holiday Cheer I knew it would be great to stamp on envelopes. BUT I challenged myself to create a full card using those same images. It is note card sized (3-1/2″ x 5″), but hey it’s a full card. I was inspired by the fall colors outside my studio window. I am really happy with the finished design!
The base starts with a Whisper White notecard (3-1/2″ x 5″). I stamped a frame around the edge with the Fall leaf stamp alternating in Mossy Meadow, Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry inks. I did rotate the stamp, because I liked how it looked better then facing all the same direction. I have to admit my first attempt stamping the leaf frame came out, spacing wise, pretty darn good. I did wipe away the inked stem on a couple leaves in the corners. I then sponged the notecard edges lightly with Crushed Curry to give a distressed look. Next are the rectangle layers in Crushed Curry and Mossy Meadow (this has become my new favorite green!). I also sponged the edges of the Crushed Curry rectangle to give more depth. Next is the Cajun Craze 1/2″ band that I did the Faux Felt technique on to give a bit of subtle texture. Before I applied the Cajun Craze band I stamped the sothankful sentiment into a Whisper White banner in (you guessed it) Mossy Meadow and tucked it under the band before adhering it. Then I wrapped Linen Twine twice around and tied with a bow, placing it on the card popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals (it needed more height! Lol!) Finally, I topped it off with a Champagne Glimmer paper leaf from the Fun Fall Framelits set with a couple glue dots.
