One Tag Fits All Birthday (April Class 4 of 5)

04 500dpi One Tag Fits All

Good Monday morning!  What a whirlwind weekend.  Friday evening was my work bowling party (it was nice to socialize away from the office) then we had to leave a wee bit early to go and see Joe Banamassa (he’s an awesome blues rock-ish guitar player).  Then Saturday was my Craft and Stamp Garage Sale.  I’m glad I didn’t have to take home as much as I brought.  Lol!  Finally, Sunday my mom and I went to our traditional spot for Mother’s Day……The Old Spaghetti Factory. Mmmmmmm……I always (and I do mean always) get the Mazithra with Brown Butter.  All I can say again is….mmmmmmmm.  It was a busy but very fun weekend.  I hope you had a good one as well.

Today’s post is the fourth project from my April Card Class.  It features the “One Tag Fits All” stamp set and Strawberry Slush cardstock (I will be extremely sad when this In Color retires at the end of this month.  Yes, the new catalog goes lives June 2nd!  OMGosh I can’t believe it, this year has gone by so fast.  Please feel free to contact me if you’d like a copy in your hot little hands.  Lol!

Okay, I squirreled a little bit.  The base starts with Strawberry Slush (shedding a tear), then a layer of Strawberry Slush embossed with the Large Polka Dot embossing folder.  The “tag” starts with a layer of Silver Foil punched at the top with the Ornate Tag Topper Punch and rounded the corner at the bottom.  Next I heat embossed the Frame with Silver onto Whisper White.  I colored the stripes with a Strawberry Slush Marker and then I trimmed to the outer frame line leaving the frame intact.  You may being thinking “hey, isn’t there a punch for that”?  Yes, you are correct.  It would have cut away almost half of the frame and not having the outer line just wasn’t working for me.  Then on another piece of Whisper White I stamped the frame in Strawberry Slush, then stamped the Cake and Eat Cake into the middle and heat embossed in Silver.  Next I trimmed away the entire frame leaving just the Whisper White interior with the embossed image and sentiment.  I did color the cake with Strawberry Slush and Blushing Bride markers.  Okay, here are how the layers were popped — 1st – the Silver was adhered flat to the card; 2nd – the embossed & colored frame with popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals; 3rd – the interior piece was popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals as well.  If I had popped the silver layer it would have been too much for mailing.  Yes, I do think of those things sometimes.  Lol!  Finally, I topped the “tag” off with three Silver Foil Stars die cut from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits dies.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you had a good weekend (and especially Mother’s Day).
