Good Monday morning! Our annual Holiday office party was on Friday night and it very nice. The finger foods were actually pretty darn good and the drinks were locally sourced. We also had a good time afterwards at the Trails End Saloon listening to the Men in Blues band. It was a bluesy-rockin’ good time. The rest of the weekend I cleaned up and reorganized my studio, Woohoo! I feel good and my design mojo is free to run a muck. Lol!
Today’s post is the fourth design we made in my November Christmas Card Class. It was inspired by a tray I saw in a Crate & Barrel holiday catalog. Remember, inspiration can be found anywhere. I really like the clean and simple layout. Oh, and it’s got lots of shine! [grin]
CARD BASE: The base is Whisper White embossed with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder.
FOCAL POINT: The Red Foil Stripe Vellum from the Holiday Fancy Foil Designer Vellum stack is backed with Whisper White, this gives the appearance of White and Red stripes. [TIP: The best way to adhere the Vellum to the white cardstock is putting the adhesive onto the thick strips. They will hide the adhesive.] These were then layered onto the Real Red rectangle. The rectangle layers were popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
SENTIMENT: I clear embossed a strip of Garden Green. Then I die cut “merry” from the Christmas Greeting Thinlits. It was glued to the foil vellum with our new Fine-Tip Glue Pen, this made it very easy. Woohoo! Next the “merry” was slightly reheated to re-melt the edges to smooth them out. Finally, I stamped “Christmas” from the Holly Jolly Greetings stamp set onto Whisper White with Garden Green ink then hand cut out and popped it as well.
I’m so glad you stopped by today. I hope you have a great Monday!
