I’m catching up with postings from my May Card Class. This guy was inspired by a color challenge I came across several months ago (Bermuda Bay, Peekaboo Peach, Early Espresso). I couldn’t help myself I wanted to use the Hey, Chick Sale-a-Bration stamp set. Better late then never, right? My May class is all about the guys, men, boys and dudes in our lives, this is the first of four guy designs. The set is retired but you could replace it with just about any stamp set that you might have in your stash.
BASE: I decided on a square design making the best use of the 6×6 Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper Stack. The base is Early Espresso layered with squares of Bermuda Bay and Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper Stack. The Bermuda Bay square is embossed with the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It adds a fun bit of texture to the card. Then a strip of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon was wrapped around the front of the card.
FOCAL POINT: This adorable chick is from the 2017 Sale-a-Bration Stamp Set “Hey, Chick“. It was stamped onto Shimmery White with Early Espresso Ink and colored using Bermuda Bay, Peekaboo Peach, So Saffron and Daffodil Delight ink. He was punched with a 2-1/2” Circle and then layered onto an Early Espresso Circle from the Layering Circles Framelits.
SENTIMENT: “Hey,” and “Dude” from (Hey, Chick and Labeler Alphabet) stamp sets were stamped onto a Shimmery White strip with Early Espresso ink. (TIP: For class I had the “U” and “E” on one acrylic block and the “D” on another to make it easier to stamp with only one “D”.)
Thank you for stopping by today. Have a great Monday and keep on stamping!
