Hello to the first Friday Eve in 2015! I just had to share……Derek has a bad cold so we stayed home on New Year’s, but that’s not out of the norm for us. He’ll come in at midnight and wake me up for a our New Year’s kiss, he is a sweetie. Now it’s my turn to fight the cold bug…..ick!
Today I went with a clean and simple design. It is the first of three that will show easy ways to step up your cards. They feature the Hello You Thinlits die set (available in the new Occasions Catalog) and Sale-A-Bration Designer Series Paper Best Year Ever……Awesome!! The Designer Series Paper gives the feel of multiple torn layers without actually have to tear them.. Love it! I really like the color combination of Coastal Cabana and Pistachio Pudding. To add my all important texture I did Faux Suede to the sentiment strip. (Yes, someday soon I will video how I do this fun technique. Lol!)
Also……I learned a great way to easily cut and remove the cardstock from the dies. Here we go……take four sheets of unused dryer sheets, fold them in half (so you have 8 total layers). Here’s the cutting sandwich…….Magnetic platform, cutting mat, dryer sheet layers, cardstock, die and second cutting mat. It pulls the cardstock out perfectly, and you carefully peel the shape from the dry sheet stack. This will works on all shorts of thin dies. WAY cool! Finally, I topped everything with a couple rhinestones to give the perfect amount of sparkle!
Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you have a great Friday Eve!
