I recently got the Happy Wishes Sale-a-Bration stamp set and felt it would lend itself to a Red, Black and White design. Well……three designs later and I’m happy to say I did it! Yay! This is my first of three designs with the black, white and red color combination. Not only did I use the Happy Wishes SAB stamp set, I also used just one 6″x6″ sheet of black & white stripe from the Tutti-frutti Designer Series Paper (for all three designs), as well as Red Glimmer for added sparkle. [smile]
The “Best” image includes flowers across the bottom. Color coordinated embossing the “Best” in Real Red then topping with the embossed flowers gave a nice dimension. I heat embossed the Happy Wishes SAB Stamp Set twice and fussy cut the flowers, then placed them onto the Real Red “Best” as well as the upper and lower corners. The trick here is color coordinated heat embossing to add nice shine.
To color coordinate embossing you lightly (very lightly) ink the stamp with VersaMark then ink the image with the color desired and stamp onto the cardstock. Sprinkle this with Clear Emboss Powder and heat until shiny. This technique is an easy way to emboss in any color you want. Sweet! [TIP: Make sure to thoroughly clean your stamp after each stamping. Otherwise you will make a mess of you VersaMark ink pad.]
Finally, to add nice dimension the rectangle and large & small ovals were popped with Dimensionals. [perfect!]
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed today’s first design and will pop back and check out the remaining two designs. Have a great day!
