Happy Birthday – It’s My Party (2 of 3)

Its My Party DSP--Party Wishes 2

Hi Stampin’ Peeps!!!  Woohoo!!!!!!  It’s Friday and it’s going to be sunny and warm……double Woohoo!!!  I hope you have fun plans for this weekend.  It’s spring break next week here in Portland so loads of peeps are heading out of town to have even more fun.  😎

My design for today is the second of three designs featuring the It’s My Party Designer Series Paper as well as the Party Wishes stamp set.  The inspiration for this design came from a April 2016 Vogue magazine clothing ad.  (Sorry, I forgot to take a pic to show.)  The outfit was in black and white.  It was a blouse with all-over small stars topped with a white sleeveless sweater with one med-to-large black star.  I had just perused the It’s My Party Designer Series Paper Stack just the day before and instantly thought of this paper.  [grin]  With me, I keep myself open to inspiration from anywhere and everywhere.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you have a great Friday and weekend!

CARD BASE:  The base starts with Daffodil Delight layered with Melon Mambo and White Stars design from the It’s My Party Designer Series Paper Pack.  Next are smaller layers of Daffodil Delight and Textured Whisper White (vintage) that I popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  [Hello….more height please.  Lol!]

FOCAL POINT:  I wanted to play up the “star” inspiration and die cut three different sizes from the Stars Collection Framelits in Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper.  I backed these with Melon Mambo to help them pop.  Yes, I pulled up my big girl panties and free-hand trimmed the Melon Mambo framing layer.  Lol!  Also, I wanted “more height” so I popped these with Stampin’ Dimensionals as well.

SENTIMENT:  Okay, I went a little off-the-rails when I created the sentiment.  Lol!  I stamped the Happy Birthday from the Party Wishes stamp set onto Whisper White with Melon Mambo ink then fussy cut the words out, leaving about a 1/16″ for breathing room.  Next I layered the words onto Melon Mambo and free-hand trimmed as well.  Finally… is were I really went overboard.  I fussy cut each letter and layered onto the Melon Mambo stamped letters.  I was trying for a 3-D look with the “Happy Birthday”.  I may have gone over the top, but I also brushed on a light coat of Wink of Stella Clear to add even more sparkly.  (I think this might have been a tad too much, but I wasn’t about to redo the letters.  Lol!!!)  Finally, I popped the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals as well to get even more height.  Lol!
