Today is my third post featuring the Happy Birthday Gorgeous Stamp Set. It was actually my first design but I had to retake the pics as they didn’t look as good as I had thought. When I first looked at the Happy Birthday Gorgeous set a wreath with flowers came to mind. What actually came to mind was a wedding card in all white with the wreath in Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer and lightly colored flowers. It didn’t quite work out as I had envisioned, but I am super happy with this end result AND it could be for just about anything. Woohoo!
BASE: I did start with Whisper White for the base. Next I layered it with a square of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer and then Textured Basic Black (vintage). I popped the glimmer layer with Dimensionals. [Sparkle layer #1]
WREATH: I created the wreath with 12 leaf/stem pieces from the Everyday Jars Framelits. I ended up trimming some of the stem away so it would look more rounded. I used mini glue dots to overlap the stems and circle around to create the wreath shape. [Sparkle layer #2]
FLOWERS: With the wreath finally done I got to work on the flowers and ended up with silver embossed flowers stamped with Melon Mambo and Pink Pirouette. [Sparkle layer #3] I did fussy cut the large flowers and then punched the smaller centers with a 3/8″ circle punch. To make it easier on myself I used mini glue dots to build the flowers and then placed them around the wreath with mini Dimensionals. Finally, I added a small rhinestone to the center. [Woohoo! Sparkle layer #4].
SENTIMENT: I stamped the “Congratulations” from the Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set onto a 1/2″ Whisper White strip with Smoky Slate ink. To give the strip an undulating look I ran each end through my fingers making the ends curve slightly. Next I placed 3 stacked Dimensionals at the center [TIP: Color the sides of the Dimensional stack with a black sharpie to make it less noticable.] Then I placed it into the enter of the wreath and mini glue dos on the curved ends.
Here is a close up of the wreath and flowers. I had a hard time getting the glimmer paper to sparkle so I zoomed in, that way I could show you all that sparkle. [smile]
I’m super happy with how it turned out even though it may not have been what I had envisioned. Sometime you just have to roll with how a design wants to go. I hope you enjoyed today’s post. Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you have a stamping-ly wonderful Monday!
