Welcome to my 400th post! Wooohoo!!! When I realized that I would be hitting that mark with this post I was amazed that I have been sharing what I love with you for that long. It seems like it was just yesterday that I started blogging. Thank you all for all your support and comments.
Well……on to today’s (400th) post. It’s that fun time of the year………..I was honored to be asked again to design for our BZBStampers Stamp Together featuring loads of fun stamps, tools and accessories from the new Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs. Can you tell yet that I’m loving these catalogs. I think they are to best that I’ve seen so far. I decided to go WAY outside my comfort zone and chose the Guy Greetings stamp set to design three projects. I was challenged and ultimately excited (when I got on a roll) by this set.
Today’s post starts with an Early Espresso base that is slightly smaller then a normal A2 size card. I designed the rectangle and sized the card base to fit. Sometimes you just have to go with what feels good. [That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!] After randomly stamping the Sahara Sand rectangle with the car in Sahara Sand ink (which I think looks just like designer series paper) I layered it onto the Island Indigo rectangle. I felt this really made all the colors have their own breathing room and pop. The old-timey looking muscle-y guy is stamped on Naturals White in Early Espresso ink and his pants are colored with Sahara Sand and a blender pen. I was limited on what to use to add a bit of that all important bling, BUT I didn’t want to over overboard so I went with a Cajun Craze Candy Dot. [TIP: To put this over the top I would have heat embossed the muscle-y guy in Early Espresso (subtle way to add that bling).] Finally, I topped it with an Island Indigo banner stamped with Early Espresso as well and fussy cut it. Yes, I liked the fussy cut banner enough to listen to everyone whine (another of my design feature things I think about). 😎
Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you have a great Hump Day and enjoy this post. I’d love to hear if he’s got enough bling. Lol!
