Good Wednesday morning (aka, Hump Day)! Woohoo!!! Only 7 days until I leave for Stampin’ Up!’s annual convention. Double Woohoo! I’m super stoked and I’m feverishly working on my 200+ swaps. Yes, I’m that over-the-top person. Lol! It is just so much fun to meet and chat with people that love stamping as much as I do. Don’t worry, I’ll be posting my swaps as well as sample swaps I receive.
Today’s post is a sample I made for our BZB Safari Retreat. It features one of the new 2015-17 In Colors – Watermelon Wonder and “Friendly Wishes” Stamp Set.
CARD BASE: It starts with a Whisper White base layered with Watermelon Wonder embossed with the Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder.
FOCAL POINT: Is the banner. The striped paper is in the new 2015-17 In Colors Envelope Paper in the new Annual Catalog. It features stripes and a woodgrain. Both of the designs are something I really like and look forward to working with more. I did go over the top and cut (with the personal trimmer) 1/8″ strips of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper. Boy that was an undertaking. Lol! [TIP: The glimmer paper dulls the cutting blades very quickly, so you will need to replace it after cutting on the glimmer paper.] Then I glued the glimmer strips to the banner and trimmed them to fit. I LOVE how it turned out, not too much, but just right. The banner was popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals………for more height. Lol!
SENTIMENT: Starts with layered circles in Watermelon Wonder and Whisper White die cut from the Circles Collection Framelits Die Set. [TIP: These and the Ovals Collection are a couple of my “Go To” items in my Studio.] I then stamped You’re the Best in Watermelon Wonder onto the Whisper White circle. The layered circles where popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals as well for…….HELLO…….more height. Lol!
I love how this stripped down version looks. Don’t get me wrong, Erica Cerwin’s version(s) are wonderful. I just wanted to go even more clean and simple with the layout. Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you have a good rest of your day!
