Friendly Wishes Polka Dots

Friendly Wishes Polka Dots

Good Monday!  My weekend was comfortably busy.  I had lunch with a dear friend and demonstrator (Vangie Y.).  She recently returned from wintering in Palm Springs and I just missed her so much we got together for catchup time.  Then I headed over to a baby shower for my friend’s daughter had a wonderful time.  We got very lucky and the temp was hovering just around 90ish, not the 100+ they were talking about.  I brought my own personal battery-operated fan attached to a spritz bottle.  It was a nice quick cooler.  I even shared it with the mom-to-be a couple times.  Lol!  We decorated one-ies and bibs with puff paint, played several games and generally just enjoyed gathering and celebrating.  Sunday I was able to attend a stamp class with Vangie and just laughed and enjoyed ourselves more.  [grinning]

Today I like to share the second card we created in my June Card Class.  It features the Friendly Wishes Stamp Set and Polka Dot Background Designer Series Paper (recently retired).  I really like the high contrast of the Melon Mambo and Basic Gray, and the opposing circle layout.  It looks like a flip card but opens like a regular card with the fold on the left side.

CARD BASE:  Melon Mambo Layered with bands of Whisper White and Basic Gray Background Designer Series Paper.  You lightly adhere each end of the bands together, then punch the circle out.  TIP:  I don’t normally condone punching two layers of paper at one time, but both of these were thin enough that I was comfortable letting my ladies punch away.  Lol!  After adhering the two bands together, they were popped with dimensionals.

SHINE:  HELLO!  I had to add some “sparkle” somewhere.  I went with 5/8″ White Organza Ribbon, which is shiny with a wee bit of matt too.  Tied it into a bow and adhered with a couple glue dots to make sure it was securely fastened.  TIP:  If the bow is too girly, just tie a knot in the ribbon and wrap around the band.

SENTIMENT:  Stamp the sentiment from the Friendly Wishes Stamp Set in Melon Mambo onto Whisper White and punch with a small circle punch.  You may need to trim away some from the straight edge of the DSP circle half.  TIP:  I placed (do not glue yet) the DSP circle half and then the full circle, then adjusted the DSP circle half until the circle was round.  I had to cut away some from the straight edge to get a “circle”.  Then adhere the DSP circle half to the card and pop the sentiment circle with dimensionals.

I so appreciate you stopping by today.  Thank you and have a great Monday!
