For All Things Autumn Leaves – September Card Class

For All Things Fall Leaves

I hope you had a great weekend.  It was another beautiful sunny weekend in the upper 70’s to low 80’s.  I’m also happy to say it will be nice this week too, in the mid-70’s.  Yay!  I attended our local demonstrator event for the BZBStampers Hive Happening.  It was so much fun seeing old friends and meeting new ones.  I was honored to be a presenter.  I showed some traditional and “out-of-the-box” ideas made with the new Gift Box Punch Board.  I also showed a sneak peek of my November Craft Project Central project that will be viewable November 1st.  I’d love for you stop by and leave a comment on their website.  I look forward to reviewing you comments!

This is the second card we created in September’s Card Class.  I surprised myself by creating several Halloween / Fall projects.  I really fell in love with this Fall-ish color combination.  This is a long-narrow card (3″ x 5-1/2″) which starts with a Blackberry Bliss base.  The wide strip is Crushed Curry embossed with the Decorative Dots textured impressions embossing folder.  The three leaves were stamped onto Very Vanilla in Tangelo Twist, Crushed Curry and Blackberry Bliss ink.  Yes, they had to fussy cut them.  I thought there was a die for the shape but not-so-much.  I used strands from the 1-1/4″ Burlap Ribbon.  Start by folding a strand in half then bring the two ends together and tape to back of each leaf.  [TIP:  Trim away the serged edge from one side and gingerly pull out strands.]   Adhere the leaves starting at the bottom working your way to the top with a couple glue dots on the bottom and two Stampin’ Dimensionals stacked on top of each other at the top of each leaf, overlapping slightly.  The sentiment band is in Mossy Meadow, with subtle texture created by doing the Faux Suede technique.  Finally, the sentiment was stamped onto Very Vanilla with Blackberry Bliss, I did fussy cut this as well.  I gave them the option to fussy cut or punch with the Word Window Punch.  It was a 50/50 of fussy cutting versus punching.  Lol!

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you have a great week!  I would enjoy reading your comments.
