Happy Friday Eve! I have been wanting to give coloring DSP a try. After looking at the Back to Black Designer Series Paper I chose the leaves design. We’re sneaking up on Fall so I decided to color the leaves Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Mossy Meadow and Tangelo Twist. After I had finished coloring I was trying to decide how to incorporate it onto a card. I had been perusing sketch challenges and remembered FMS 149 and that was it. I have fallen in love with the long and narrow card shape lately. I tweak mine to be 3″ x 5-1/2″ so it will fit into an A2 size envelope. Yay!
My long and narrow card base starts with Crushed Curry. I layered the colored DSP onto Basic Black trimming the DSP an 1/8″ smaller to give a narrow Basic Black frame. The long and narrow sentiment Whisper White rectangle was layered onto Basic Black with the same 1/16″ reveal popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped Give Thanks for All Things from For All Things stamp set onto the rectangle in Mossy Meadow ink. The top and bottom bands were punched with the Label Bracket punch with the corners slightly rounded, then gave them the Faux Suede technique and topped with a very narrow strip of Champagne Glimmer Card Stock.
