This is the third project we created in March’s iWOW U Class. It is super cute and makes for a great party favor that can be made in any color to coordinate.
It is made from the two largest Floral Framelits Dies. Score at three petals to create a square. The edges were sponged heavily but the picture doesn’t do it justice. I also added a butterfly (and rhinestones [grin]) to tie in with the rest of this months projects.
This design is based on Caroline Van Den Neste’s single Floral Frames box holding a chocolate. I “Carol’d it up” by adding a second smaller flower box and leaves as the base. The smaller inner floral box was “popped up” with many layers of dimensionals to give a flower unfurling look.
STAMPIN’ SUPPLIES:
- STAMP: None
- PAPER: Garden Green, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight
- INK: Garden Green, Rose Red
- MISC.: Punch~Bitty Butterfly; Framelits~Floral Frames; Rhinestones
Happy Sponging!
Sparkly Hugs, Carol
UPDATE: I’ve had many requests asking how I scored and cut the flowers to create the floral box shapes. Below is a picture that shows the scoring and cutting lines. I recommend scoring all the lines first (from petal to petal). Next fold & crease the scored lines with a bone folder. Then cut the solid “cut” lines to the intersection. This creates a “flap” that is glued to the inside to create the box shape.
I just cannot figure out how to make the floral frames treat box. Could you do a step-by-step tutorial or a video please?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Maggie
Ditto what Maggie said. Can you give us a tutorial or show some pictures how you cut the petals from the framelets piece to make this box. This is SUPER CUTE and I would love to make some of them as party favors for my card making group. Thank You, Tana
