Fancy Frost Flourish – Thanks

Woohoo……it’s Friday, my fun day!  I’m looking forward to hunkering down in my studio this weekend and designing for my upcoming Christmas card class in a couple weeks.  I’m amazed how quickly the holidays are sneaking up, but I’m also looking forward to spending time family and friends.  It’s never too early to start on those Christmas cards.  [wink, wink]

Today’s Fancy Frost Flourish share was inspired by a necklace I came across on Pinterest (gotta love Pinterest!).  You can check it out here.  I was enamored with the necklace and new I wanted to create a design.  I did try the silver and blue color combination using the Soft Sky Fancy Frost sequins (you can find them in the Holiday Catalog on page 37) and Flourish Thinlits band (in the Annual Catalog) but it morphed into the Sweet Sugarplum Fancy Frost sequins and Pink Pirouette colors.  Who would have guessed……pink and sparkly.  Lol!!!  The clean and simple subtle elegance makes for a nice Thank You card or any occasion by just changing the sentiment.  You may be asking, “how come I didn’t add rhinestones in the center of the sequin”.  Well, I did try it and it was just too much.  WHAT?  Yes, they were too much.  Lol!  This was certainly the case were less was more.

BASE:  One of my favorite card sizes is the Long & Narrow (3-1/4″ x 5″).  Today’s design lent itself to this size.  The base is Smoky Slate.  The Pink Pirouette band is created by tearing the edges, then applying faux suede technique for a subtle bit of texture.

FOCAL BAND:  The bottom strip starts with Silver Glimmer for just a touch of sparkle.  The middle strip is Smoky Slate.  [TIP: This will need to be applied to the Silver Glimmer with Tear & Tape.] to  These are topped with the “band” from the Flourish Thinlits in Silver Foil.  [TIP: The card length was determined by the die length.]  To add one more layer of sparkle I topped each center with a Sweet Sugarplum sequin from the Fancy Frost sequins.

SENTIMENT:  I felt a simple but shiny sentiment (of course, Lol!) would be best.  I went with “thanks” from Cottage Greetings stamp set.  It is embossed with Silver emboss powder.

Thank you for popping by today!  I hope you have a great Friday and weekend.  Until next time, happy stamping!
