Fall Fest Peek-a-Boo Ghost (September Card Class)

Fall Fest Peek-a-Boo Ghost

It’s terrific Tuesday!  Isn’t this just the cutest???  When my friend and fellow demonstrator Marcy Daniels “unveiled” this at an Open House we participated in last month I thought “This is too cute, and I’m going to recreate this for my September class”.  I didn’t get a chance to touch and examine it, so I went from a pic I took with my phone.  It may be slightly different, who knows.  Lol!  I did add the “Boo!” and made the spider [from the Fall Fest Framelits] have 8 legs.  I asked what she used to make the spider and when she said the Fall Fest Famelits I told her “Way to think outside the box!!!”

The base is Basic Black 4-1/4″ x 8-1/2″ folded in half, then the front was embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  The Smoky Slate card stock square is 3-1/4″ x 6-1/2″ folded in half.  The “window” was punched with the Tag punch, insert end (opposite fold) into punch until it bottoms out.  Adhere two 1/8″ strips of Smoky Slate card stock to the inside of the window.  THEN stamp front with the Hardwood background stamp in Smoky Slate [that way the mullions are stamped as well].  Emboss Ghost image on Whisper White card stock with White embossing powder.  Die cut embossed image with Ghost shape from Fall Fest Framelits.  Starting to see a pattern here???  Lol!  Place Stampin’ Dimensionals onto back of Ghost slide him between the window and back of the Smoky Slate square.  Slide him around until you are happy, then remove the Stampin’ Dimensional backs and place him.  Now to enclose your ghost place two Stampin’ Dimensionals on each of the three “non-fold” edges.  Peel backs off and press together to get your ghost “peeking” out your window.   Take a 3-1/2″ length of Whisper White Baker’s Twine and tape a 1/2″ length to the back and drape onto front loosely taping other end to front.  NOW you can adhere him onto the embossed Basic Black base.  Die cut the leafy-stem shape from Fall Fest Framelits in Basic Black.  Next cut the stem and three leaves from the other end away, this will give you an 8-legged spider.  Placed him over the Baker’s Twine end popped with a Stampin’ Dimensional.  Stamp the “Boo!” from the Project Life Holiday Cheer stamp set onto Daffodil Delight card stock in StaZon Jet Black and punch with a 1″ circle.  I did color in the letters with a Black Sharpie marker to get solid letters, giving more impact.  I did sponge the edges lightly with Smoky Slate ink.  Then pop it with a Stampin’ Dimensional.  One last fun tip…….as some of my stampers were coloring in the eyes and mouth with the marker they said this would be super cute with googly eyes!!!  OMGosh!  I raced into my room and whipped out googly eyes I still had from last’s years Holiday Catalog.  You never know when you will need something, right?  They were a huge hit and everyone got googly eyes.  I hope you enjoyed today’s post.  Thank you for stopping by today!
