Fabulous Four – Embossed Celebrate

Fabulous Four Celebrate Swap

I’m getting super excited!!!  Only two days until I leave for convention.  Eek!  I feverishly worked on my swaps this weekend.  My goal is 50 each of four designs for general swapping and 48 – 2×2 card candy squares for an organized swap.  I am almost there!  Just need to put some finishing bits on my last design and I am done!  High Five!!!!

Saturday was my 50th birthday.  My mom and I have a tradition of going to the Old Spaghetti Factory for our birthday’s and Mother’s Day.  This one was no exception.  I always look forward to having Mizithra with Browned Butter, my favorite.  Mmmmmmmm.    We had a good time and wonderful lunch.  Derek and I went out for a yummy dinner, we kept it low key because he understood that I needed to work on my swaps and get ready.  He even helped me with Big Shot-ing for about 4 hours.  He’s a keeper!!!  Going to convention this year is my “big” birthday present to myself.

Today’s post is my swap from our recent BZB Hive Happening Swap.  I wanted to keep it simple with a bit of shine.  I challenged myself to use a stamp set that I had not used yet, it is Fabulous Four.  Woohoo!  This card is my take on a tag on Page 59 of the Annual Catalog.  I decided to turn it into a card.  [TIP:  Anything that inspires you can be worked into a card design, just keep your mind open.]

BASE:  It starts with a long and narrow size card in Soft Sky.  I like 3-1/4″ x 5-1/2″, this size works great with 8-1/2″ x 11″ size cardstock.

FOCAL POINT:  Is the banner / tag, that is in Whisper White banner shape stamped with the Dotty Angles – Dots image in Soft Sky.  The left side is layered with a 2″ Silver Foil and 1-3/4″ Soft Sky half circle.  [TIP:  The 2″ Silver Circle could be replaced with a small Silver Metallic Foil Doily, for added interest]  Then topped with a Silver 1/8″ Ribbon bow with a glue dot.

SENTIMENT:  I’ve been wanting to use the Fabulous Four Stamp Set for a while.  Well……now I have!  I stamped the sentiment with VersaMark ink onto the Whisper White banner and then embossed with Silver Embossing Powder  [TIP:  Make sure to generously rub the banner with an Embossing Buddy be stamping and applying the Embossing Powder, it help the excess powder to release from the cardstock.]
