English Garden – Birthday Card

50th B-Day closed - Cyd Yamamoto

Yay!  Friday is finally here.  I’ve got a jam packed weekend.  Tomorrow I get to help prep for the BZBStamper Holiday Catalog stamp together.  Yes!  The Holiday Catalog is a mere few days away from going “live”.  Woohoo!  I was honored to help design a few of the cards we will be making for our local demo event where we get to play with and touch loads of items from the upcoming Holiday Catalog, as well as 12 samples to take home.  Eek!  If this sounds fun and you’d like to participate just reach out to me.  Then I am finally video’ing my 50th birthday guitar tutorial that will accompany my paper instructions for a late September weekly posting at, I am so excited about this!!!  Finally, Sunday I’ll be having an impromptu gathering of a few of the downline to brainstorm and create card designs for our upcoming BZBStamper “mail-in” swap that each person choose a set from the Holiday Catalog and designs three different cards featuring that stamp set.  This is another great way to receive more inspiration and ideas that can be shared and enjoyed.

Okay, on onto today’s lovely card.  A wonderful lady that attends most all of my classes and loves to heat emboss and doesn’t mind fussy cutting (to a point Lol!) Cyd Yamamoto.  She sent me this lovely birthday card last month.  I am remiss that I have not posted it sooner.  It is so pretty that I had it sitting on my work table and completely forgot to share.  Well……here ya go.

It showcases the English Garden Designer Series Paper that I have fallen in love with.  She managed to incorporate three of the designs into this beauty.  I thought it was cute that she used the bee from the Garden in Bloom stamp set to create the tab that holds this card closed.  The Happy Birthday goes great with the DSP, its a little “hand drawn” looking, not too perfect.  A great pairing.

50th B-Day open - Cyd Yamamoto

Here is the card partially open.  I wanted you to see how she made this “fun fold” card.  It’s a fun twist on the traditional card opening.  The lower left corner tucks under the “Bee” circle to hold it closed.  It feels bright and very thoughtful.  Thank you Cyd for the sweet birthday card and sentiment inside!!!

I thoroughly enjoy it when I receive a card from one of my ladies or they bring what they’ve been working on to class to share.  Thank you for popping by this great Friday.  I hope you have a great weekend.
