I’m jumping in my seat that the new 2020-21 Annual Catalog is here!!! You’ll laugh, but the Celebrate Sunflowers Bundle was not part of my first order. After seeing many cute samples on Pinterest I talked myself into purchasing the bundle. I surprised myself by starting my designing with the Celebrate Sunflowers bundle. Lol!
I wanted to challenged myself to use non-traditional colors. I totally love the Blushing Bride and Sahara Sand color combination. [Pink is my favorite color. Lol!) My post for today with my Distressed Celebrate Sunflowers duo makes me feel calm and happy.
An easy way to get dimension on a card is to stamp multiples of the same image, then cut out inner layer(s) and popping with Dimensionals. This is what I did for the first two layers using the same image. The top (third) layer is the smaller flower from the Celebrate Sunflowers set. Next, the new Old World Paper Embossing Folder adds a nice distressed layer of dimension for the sunflower to rest on.
Again, I used the Old World Paper embossing folder and turned it upside down with the crumples facing up and lightly wiping with Blushing Bride ink. The embossing along with the Faux Suede band give this design its distressed feel.
Below is the soft color combination I used for today’s designs.
- STAMP: Celebrate Sunflowers
- PAPER: Whisper White, Blushing Bride, Sahara Sand
- INK: Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake, Flirty Flamingo
- ACCESSORIES: Dies–Sunflowers | Emboss Folder–Old World Paper
