I hope you’re having a wonderful Wednesday! I am still reeling from all the excitement from last weekends first ever OnStage event. We got sneak peaks at the 2016 Occasion and Sale-a-Bration catalogs. THEY ARE AMAZING! I can’t wait to show them to everyone on December 3rd. Sorry but that is the word from Stampin’ Up! BUT, until then I’ll be designing away so I have even more to share with you. Woohoo!
Today is the third design from the Cottage Greetings Card Kit. I made the original (see above) as instructed, yes!, they do include instructions, dimensionals, embellishments, etc., all you need is adhesive to put them together. I KNOW! That’s pretty darn sweet.
But you know me, I wanted to see what I could create on my own. The original design was pretty clean and simple, which I liked. So to designing town I went. It is even more clean and simple, and super quick, fast, and in-a-hurry. Lol! I used my old stand-by technique Faux Suede for the band. I just love the subtle texture it gives the design.
CARD BASE: The base is from the Cottage Greetings Card Kit. I did cut it down to make a 3-1/4 x 5-1/5″ card. I really like the long and narrow feel that mimics the die cut label shape. I added a 1/2″ Island Indigo band where I used my old stand by technique — Faux Suede. It adds another layer and subtle texture that make s a nice impact.
FOCAL POINT: The die cut label shapes are Silver Foil and pre-printed floral images that come precolored. Woohoo! The great thing is they are pre-die cut and ready to go. AND those floral images already colored makes my day! I layered the floral onto the Silver Foil and popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
SENTIMENT: I really wanted to keep this clean and simple. A simple “thanks” can make anyone’s day. I stamped “thanks” in Smoky Slate ink onto a 1/2″ Whisper White strip. Then I punched the ends with a 3/4″ Circle Punch to mimic the Label shape. [TIP: If you have a longer sentiment you could cut the strip to the length of the Label shape and trim using the label edges as a guide.]
