Botanical Builder Flowers

500pxl SAB Botanical Gardens 2 Flower Bundle

Good Friday morning!  Woohoo….the weekend is almost here!!!  We have had a busy but fun week at our house.  Monday night we rescued two 3 month old kittens.  They are just the most adorable, playful and so fun to watch.  They have grown so much in just the four days we’ve had them.  They are officially Paprika “prika” (left) and Pepper (right).

I seem to always have bits and pieces left over from designing.  Sometimes I don’t have the heart to recycle them and they sit on my table calling to me “please make me into something”.  Lol!  Well…..the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer flower frame on the right and the flower shape itself on the left, as well as the Calypso Coral flowers were just that.  [I cut away the Glimmer flower frame when I created the design I posted a few days ago, you can check it out here.]  The Calypso Coral flowers were already on my work table and when I placed the Dazzling Diamonds flower shapes next to them I instantly placed them together and thoughts “Ooh, those look really good together”.  They sat there a while until I put my heart into it and created this fun spring-y design.  All the flowers and leaves are from the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies set.  With so many flowers, leaves and even an edgelit the options are endless.  Also, when contemplating what kind of background I wanted, I remembered my Sale-a-Bration Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum Stack and voila a perfect match!  AND If you’d like to see a fun outside the box design using this Framelits Dies Set you can check it out here.

CARD BASE:  The base is Old Olive layered with Calypso Coral and Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum Stack. [TIP:  I generously sponged the Calypso Coral with Calypso Coral ink to make it pop. Try it with and without and you’ll see the difference.]  The vellum shows adhesive so place your flowers and leaves first then strategically put your adhesive behind them to hold the vellum.  [Yes, they do make “vellum tape”, but I find it still shows slightly and didn’t want any to show.

FLOWERS:  The flowers are cut from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer and Calypso Coral using the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies. All the Calypso Coral flowers were generously sponged with Calypso Coral ink to add dimension and make them pop as well.  [TIP:  I used a generous amount of glue dots to build all the flowers to make sure everything stuck to the Glimmer paper.]  The flowers were layered onto Old Olive “fern like” leaves also from the Botanical Builder Framelits.  I like how these leaves keep the design light and airy and doesn’t necessarily look tropical.

SENTIMENT:  You may have noticed the design doesn’t have a sentiment.  This layout just didn’t feel like it needed one.  Whenever I tried to add one it just didn’t “feel right”, so I just left it off.  Sometimes that happens and it’s okay.  Lol!

Hey, thank you so much for stopping by today.  I hope you enjoyed today’s design.  Have a great Friday and wonderful weekend!
