Good Friday Morning Stampin’ Peeps! I hope you are looking forward to a great weekend. I can’t wait to get into my studio and hopefully whip up some more fun designs for February’s Class as well as my blog (aka…You!) Woohoo!
Today I’m sharing the second design from January’s Class. It is my nod to Valentine’s Day or just an “I love you” kind of day. When I started devouring the new Occasions Catalog I came across the Blushing Bride Glimmer paper and did my “happy chair” dance. Lol! Then I found the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits Dies Set and I knew I was going to create something with them (together). Now you might be thinking “why did I use Silver Foil in addition to the Glimmer paper”. Well….I almost never say you can have too much of a good thing. I wanted to back the heart to give some substance and kept trying different papers and dsp’s then thought “what the heck” and WOW the shine from the foil and sparkle from the glimmer paper pair perfectly without competing. That Silver Foil heart needed to tie in with the rest of the card so I put a layer on the base card and made the banner with it as well.
CARD BASE: It starts with Blushing Bride layered with Silver Foil and Striped Blushing Bride from the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper. [TIP: To make the best use of my Silver Foil paper I die cut the Heart (from the Hearts Collection Framelits – vintage), slightly smaller then the sparkly heart before adhering the layer to the card base.]
FOCAL POINT: Well it’s the sparkly heart of course. Lol! The beautiful Blushing Bride Glimmer paper is available in the Occasions Catalog while supplies last. With the glimmer side face down die cut the “Floral Heart” from the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits Dies. [TIP: I recommend running the die through your Big Shot 4-5 times to make sure all the intricate lines are cleanly cut.] Then use the new Big Shot Die Brush and Foam Pad to release the heart quickly and easily, then to pop out the “chads” in no time. This die set also includes a small and wee bit larger flower that coordinate with the flower shapes on the heart die as well as the Bloomin’ Love Stamp Set. I opted to keep the design simple and not add any flowers, because you just might give this to a guy. Next I used glue dots to adhere the sparkly heart to the silver heart. Then, of course, I had to pop it with Stampin’ Dimensionals. More height please! Lol!
SENTIMENT: For the subtle banner look stamp the “Banner” from the coordinating Bloomin’ Love Stamp Set with VersaMark ink onto a piece of Silver Foil and emboss with Silver Embossing Powder. [TIP: Make sure to use your Embossing Buddy liberally to help release any extra embossing powder.] This tone on tone embossing adds a subtle bit of shiny texture. Next stamp the “Love You” also from the Bloomin’ Love Stamp Set with StaZon Jet Black ink. Then fussy cut the banner out and pop with Stampin’ Dimensionals. [TIP: I put a single Dimensional on the left side and 2-3 Demensionals stacked on the right side to keep it even.
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you have enjoyed today’s inspiration. I’d love to hear what is your “take-a-way” with this design. Until next time, I hope you have a good Friday and great weekend!
