I plain ran out of time to post on Monday……so thank you for coming back today and checking out my second sneak peek featuring Santa’s Sleigh stamp set and coordinating Thinlits dies set from the 2016 SU Holiday Catalog. As demonstrators we get a sneak peek a month before the catalog goes live on September 1, 2016. Woohoo! I am participating in several swaps where we feature items from the catalog. Eek!
Like I said on Monday, I had an idea using a fun fold using the sleigh and those adorable reindeer (Other people are having the same idea. Lol!) For this swap we are doing cards front and it would need to be a full card. [wink, wink, I’m going to use it for my Christmas Card Class in November. 😎 So I was laying out the pieces and realized this would be a cute panel of cards, two for sure, maybe even three. You’ll have to pop again back and see. [grin]
BASE: I continued with Soft Sky for the base which makes the Reindeer pop as well. The base is topped with a Soft Sky layer embossed with the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Then I took a 1-3/4″ strip of Whisper White and tore a 1/3 strip away and layered onto the 2/3’s strip. I sponged VersaMark onto the torn edges and heat embossed with a mixture of Clear Embossing Powder and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. Shine AND sparkle together. Sweet!
FOCAL POINT: The Reindeer is just plain adorable. I Gold heat embossed the reindeer images then die cut the image. Woohoo! Okay, so both designs felt connected I added the Cherry Cobbler bows (one of the MANY shapes in Santa’s Sleigh die set) and Rhinestone. (Shine and sparkle, Sweet!) THEN I had the idea to place the “reigns” so when you put the designs were put together they would line up (well, pretty much. Lol!) I used the same Gold Baker’s Twine, which is just amazing! I, of course, popped these cuties with Dimensionals to add that all important height. [grin]
SENTIMENT: There are many images as well as several sentiments included in this set. I decided to stay with the “Merry Christmas” as it suited this clean and simple card perfectly. I also helped make it pop by layering it onto Real Red and tie in with the Reindeer Bow.
Did I hit the mark creating a coordinating two panel design? Don’t forget to pop back on Friday to see my next ditty. Lol! Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you have a great Tuesday!
