I thought I’d share what the full sheet of my “Best of Flowers” Designer Series Paper looked like before I cut it up. On the left is the non-sparkly version (Very Vanilla Cardstock). On the right is the stepped up sparkly version (Shimmery White Cardstock)! The picture doesn’t truly show how pretty the sparkly version is.
I stamped the entire sheet with the Hydrangea from the “Best of Flowers” stamp set then colored with an Aqua Painter. I have been a blender pen kinda girl for as long as I can remember BUT to achieve the variegated look I wanted I had to pull up my big girl panties and become friends with my Aqua Painter. I did a quick light wash over the entire flower with Perfect Plum, if it wasn’t perfect that was okay. I then picked up a little bit of color from the stamp pad lid (Perfect Plum) and tapped around the flower to create slightly darker areas. I then did a wash on the stems and leaves with Pear Pizzazz, with all the shading lines I didn’t have to worry about variegation. The flowers looked so cool I was wiggling in my chair with delight! I had actually created something with my Aqua Painter that I truly feel in love with!!! The stepped up version I stamped on Shimmery White Cardstock and dotted the flowers with Dazzling Details to give it that extra bit of sparkle. This is why none of the 13 cards have any additional sparkle. I loved how sparkly they looked with the Dazzling Details.
I hope you enjoyed this series and are inspired to create your own Designer Series Paper or you could even use a piece of paper from your stash that you love.
