Wedding – Typeset DSPS / Teeny Tiny Wishes

I’m so excited, I have only to more sleeps before I head off to Stampin’ Up!s annual convention in Salt Lake City, Utah!!!  My swaps are pretty well done.  I have one more that I’m debating on completing.  I have all the pieces cut BUT it have a lot of heat embossing, fussy cutting and mini-fringing to do……..we’ll see what I decide.  I just have to print my recipe labels to put on the backs and that’s it!  Yay!  I was mentally preparing myself for the HOT weather that SLC has, but this week here in Portland, OR it’s going to be hot, hot, hot…….upper 90’s and 100’s.  Yikes!  So looks like I’ll be living the hot weather dream here.  Lol!  Okay, I baked a Marion berry pie late last week and posted it a few days ago (you can check it out here).  I gave my mom a couple slices and she enjoyed them so much she asked if I would make a whole pie for her with her Marion berries.  Well, I do like to bake so I said sure.  Now I get to bake but I don’t have worry about it not getting all eaten.  Lol!  Now on to Monday’s post……..

  Wedding Typeset SDSP

I have just fallen in love with this long and narrow card size (3 x 5-1/2″), I shortened it 1/2″ so it will fit into an A2 size envelope!  I thought the “Typeset” Specialty Designer Series Paper would be cool to work with as it is similar to a thin vellum but not too transparent.  I like the different designs it has and really love the fancy filigree’ish circle sheet.  The color palette is Basic Black and Very Vanilla so I also broke out the new Gold Glimmer paper.  When I decided on a sentiment I liked how the For the Newlyweds from “Teeny Tiny Wishes” looked and decided to make a wedding card.  With just the hint of Gold Glimmer paper peeking out everywhere it gives it an elegant look.  The base is Core’dintations Textured Very Vanilla.  The band I originally tried heat embossing in Black, but it was looking too costume’y (yes, there can be too much embossing!  Lol)  So I went with the Faux Suede technique and it gave it just the prefect elegant look I was going for.  The Gold Glimmer circle is from a 2″ circle punch.  The Basic Black cardstock and Typeset SDSP circle where cut with my e-cutter.  So cool!!!  I set the SDSP circle for 1-3/4″ and the Basic Black circle for 1-7/8″.  You know me……..I love my 1/16″ reveals.  [grin]  The medallion center circles are Gold Glimmer and Basic Black (I did emboss it – adding another layer of texture).  The center is a single gold sequin that I lightly folded in half each direction so it looked like a gem.  Ohhhhhh I almost forgot…….I cut the card 5-1/2″ x 7″ so I could make a 1″ flap for the inside to hold money, a check or gift card!   Now when they open the card, whatever you put inside will stay inside.  Thank you for stopping by and I always enjoy reading your comments!  Have a great [and hopefully cool] Monday!
