Way to Go – Punch Art Car (May Class 4 of 5)

Way to Go Punch Art Car

Good Monday Morning!  I hope you have a great weekend.  I had a nice weekend.  Saturday I was able to attend a relaxing stamp class held by my upline Barb Brimhall.  She is amazing and I always get some form of inspiration from her.  The ladies at class were fun to stamp with as well!  Derek and I went to see the movie San Andreas and really enjoyed it.  Action, suspense, love, and a little bit of tears all rolled into one.  I also squeezed in a little stamping as well.  Woohoo!

Today’s card is the fourth we made in my May Class.  I have seen many different versions of punch art cars, Rachel Tessman was the one I was inspired by the most.  I wanted to keep it clean, simple and pretty quick.  This could be used for a graduation or congratulations too.  It really is a good all around card for a guy or girl.  Woohoo!  I love that!

CARD BASE:  It starts with a Smoky slate base and an Old Olive almost square cut on the diagonal to give the feel of grass on either side of the “road” traveled.  The edges of the Old Olive were sponged with same color ink to add dimension.

FOCAL POINT:  Of course is the cute punch art car.  It uses 2 sizes of Ovals Collection Framelits, 3 sizes of circle punches (for the eyes) and the modern label punch (for the tires).  I added a slight arc to the eyes, with a White Gel Pen, to give expression.  The smile is made from the same Ovals Collection Framelit used to cut the body.  Flip over the Framelit so it lies flat again the cardstock and slide inward until the outer edge of the Framelit meets the edge of the oval then draw the smile with a black sharpie following the interior edge of the Oval Framelit.

SENTIMENT:  The “Way To Go” sign post is from the Bravo Stamp Set.  It is stamped three times, once in each color (Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive) onto Whisper White and fussy cut.  The each piece was glued to the Whisper White sign.  You could use markers to color the stamp in each color, but lining up in that close of a space is very challenging.  The sign post is the Hardwood Background stamp stamped onto Soft Suede with Soft Suede Ink.
