Love What You Do – Thank You Wreath

Love What You Do - Thank You Wreath

I’ve been having fun with the amazing Share What You Love Sneak Peak Bundle.  What?!?  Yes, demonstrators were able to purchase this amazing bundle before the 2018-19 catalog goes live.  Woohoo!  Today’s post is the second in a trio of designs featuring the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Paper and Love What You Do Stamp Set.  I had fun fussy cutting all those flowers and creating this Love What You Do – Thank You Wreath.

An even more amazing thing is we get to share this same Sneak Peak Bundle prepurchase with your as well.  Yes!  Starting May 1st you can purchase this beautiful bundle.  With all the lovely designs in the Share What You Do Specialty Designer Paper the shimmery Grapefruit Grove floral design spoke to me and while creating my first design (you can check it out here) this wreath idea popped into my head.

BASE:  This time I went with a Basic Black base layered with the new In Color Grapefruit Grove and Shimmery White.  To add a bit of subtle texture I embossed the Shimmery White square with the Simple Stripes Embossing Folder.  [My first layer of shine……smile.]

WREATH:  Yes, I’m a glutton for punishment.  But I do find fussy cutting therapeutic.  Most of the time anyway.  Lol!  I had a piece of designer paper left over and started cutting out flowers.  When there was enough flowers I started playing with the pieces until I was happy with the layout.  [TIP:  I used a circle from the Layering Circles Framelits to give me the shape I wanted.] [My second layer of shine……smile.]  The wreath felt like it needed something to finish it.  After searching through my stash the Shimmer Black Ribbon called my name.  [My third layer of shine……smile]

SENTIMENT:  This clean and simple design called for the same type of sentiment.  I went with “thank you” from the Love What You Do stamp set.  I stamped it onto Shimmery White with Archival Black Ink and also fussy cut it.

There were several partial shimmery flowers left so I cut them out as well and used them to finish the inside on all three designs.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I hope you are inspired by today’s Love What You Do – Thank You Wreath to get your hands inky and stamp to your hearts content.  Have a great day!

Thoughtful Branches ~ Four Seasons

thoughtful-branches-4-seasons-736pxl

This limited time only bundle Thoughtful Branches was truly an inspiration all on its own.  I started with the Side-Step Apple Trees design, then having the ring of leaves left on my work table I just couldn’t bring myself to recycle it.  So, after several days I had my “A-ha” moment and saw it as a wreath.  Sweet!  After creating the “Summer” and “Christmas” design I said “well heck I might as well make something for Spring and Fall.  After several days of trial and error I rounded out this  fun Four Season set of designs.  I offered a tutorial which included all four designs to my customers when they purchased the bundle.

I enjoy having a great way to be creative and share what I love.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I had designing them.

I have a sparkly Monday!  Thank you for stopping by today.

Merry Christmas 2015

450pxl Home for X-Mas DSP-More Merry Messages Derek

Merry Christmas!  I hope you are having a wonderful day with family and friends.  We are spending a quite day at home and I’ll be making cookie plate deliveries tomorrow and Sunday.

I wanted to share the clean & simple Christmas card I made for Derek this year.  The wreath shape is made from the leftover foam donut from a spool of ribbon.

CARD BASE:  I started with Very Vanilla and layered it with Mossy Meadow and the Real Red and Very Vanilla striped paper from the Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper.

FOCAL POINT:  I took the foam donut shape from an empty spool of ribbon and cut a third away.  Then I wrapped the wreath with Pear Pizzazz 1/2″ Seam Binding (vintage).  I left the ribbon unglued when wrapping around and only glued the ends to the back.  I punched multiple branch shapes from Mossy Meadow, Always Artichoke and Pear Pizzazz and tucked a different color branch into each layer of ribbon.  Then I topped the wreath with a Cherry Cobbler 1/2″ Seam Binding (vintage) bow with a couple glue dots.  Next, I had leftover colored rhinestones and placed them around the wreath.  Hello…..I had to add sparkle.  Lol!  Finally, it was placed on the card with several glue dots.

SENTIMENT:  I stamped “Merry Christmas” from the More Merry Messages stamp set (vintage) onto Very Vanilla in Mossy Meadow ink.  I felt the need to fussy cut and then popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I hope you have a wonderful and Merry Christmas.  Thank you for stopping by today and have a great weekend.

Cottage Greetings Card Kit (Variation 2)

500pxl Cottage Greetings - Green w-Silver Dots 1

Hello, Wednesday……here we come!  I’m having a good morning so far, I hope you are as well.  😎

I’m super excited that the first local Stampin’ Up! Corporate event…..OnStage is coming to the Clark County Fairgounds in Vancouver, WA this Friday and Saturday.  Woohoo!  We are lucky enough to get a sneak peek of the upcoming Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogs!!!  (doing my “happy chair dance” Lol!)

Today I have the second of the three variations I made from the Cottage Greetings Card Kit and stamp set.  No I did not color the images.  This is cool…..they come precolored.  Yay!  The pic above is the original design as indicated in the kit instructions.  It’s actually my favorite one.

500pxl Cottage Greetings - Green w-Silver Dots 2

It was hard to come up with a variation……so, I decided to make a shaker card with the floral wreath.  I thought I’d try Cucumber Crush embossed with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder.  But now I think I’m going to switch it for the Cucumber Crush with Silver Foil Dots.  It just need more sparkle, don’t you think?  I crack myself up sometime.  Lol!

CARD BASE:  The Mint Macaron base is embossed with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder.  It is layered with squares of Island Indigo and Veneer (included in the kit) popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I really like the veneer.  I sure wish they’d bring this back.  (hint, hint, hint)

FOCAL POINT:  I decided to make this a shaker wreath.  The opening in the middle just lends itself to this technique.  I cut the wreath center and window sheet with circles from the Circles Collection Framelits.  [TIP:  I only used one layer of 3M foam strip and should have doubled it so the sequins would “shake” more.  I normally do that but I thought it would be okay, but not so much.  Oh, well.  I’ll know next time.]  It felt like it needed something so I topped with with a Seam Binding bow.  [ah, much better]

SENTIMENT:  I stamped the sentiment from the Cottage Greetings stamp set with Smoky Slate ink onto a Whisper White narrow banner.  I layered this into a slightly less narrow strip of Island Indigo to make it pop.  It is popped with a couple Stampin’ Dimensional halves as well.  You know me “more height” is always a good thing.  [I crack myself up sometimes.  Lol!]

Monthly Memories Album For Craft Project Central

Monthly Memories Album SP

Let’s face it . . . not every stamper is a scrapbooker, but we all have dates, events, activities, milestones, etc. that we’d like to record and remember.  This Monthly Memories Album by Regina Andari, which can stand on its own, is comprised of pockets—one for each month—with at least one card in each pocket to record (with journaling and/or photos) special events.  Of course, photos and mementos can be included or attached to the front (and/or back) of each pocket.  The whole family can be involved recording a memory about something special for each month!  The handy gift bag features a really neat way to make sure the card doesn’t get lost or separated from the gift and, of course, there’s a gift box for the album!  This is an especially perfect gift for a New Year’s party hostess, or host your own party and give this ensemble to each of your guests!
See the full project and get the step-by-step instructions by heading over to Craft Project Central and subscribing to the month of December!

Happy Stamping!  Carol
