Bokeh Thinking of You Fireworks

Bokeh Thinking of You Fireworks

I’m excited to share my Bokeh Thinking of You Fireworks card today.  Three sister demonstrators asked me to join them in a new monthly class.  I was happy and honored to accept.  I enjoyed working with each of them and had fun sharing our designs with our stampers.

When I first came across the Bokeh Dots stamp set I immediately put it on my “gotta get” list.  The Bokeh mini background reminded me of fire works exploding.  This stamp set inspired me to try a Real Red, Whisper White and Blueberry Bushel color combination.  I was going for watching fireworks in a comfortable chair and sharing it with a good friend. [smile]

The bright new Blueberry Bushel In Color is the perfect shade of blue to pear with Real Red.  Woohoo!  This is the ultimate in Clean and Simple designing for me.  What?!?!  Hey, it has only two layers plus the chair and banner.  That’s clean and simple for me.  Lol!

Bokeh Thinking of You Inside

The inside is a simpler version of the outside.  [told you, clean and simple — grin]  This Bokeh image is a third generation stamp.  If you’re thinking “what the heck is a third generation stamping?”  Well let me tell you about it.  This type of stamping is super quick and easy.

First……you ink up and stamp the Bokeh Dots on your card front piece.  Second……stamp the Bokeh Dots (no reinking) a second time onto your grid sheet.  Third……stamp the Bokeh Dots a third time (no reinking) onto the interior Whisper White layer.  Sweet……what a great way to keep your stamping simple and fast.  This makes the image light enough for writing your sentiment but you can still see the image.  Love it!

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoyed today’s Bokeh Thinking of You Fireworks design and are inspired to get your hands inky.  Have a wonderful 4th of July!

Thoughtful Branches ~ Four Seasons

This limited time only bundle Thoughtful Branches was truly an inspiration all on its own.  I started with the Side-Step Apple Trees design, then having the ring of leaves left on my work table I just couldn’t bring myself to recycle it.  So, after several days I had my “A-ha” moment and saw it as a wreath.  Sweet!  After creating the “Summer” and “Christmas” design I said “well heck I might as well make something for Spring and Fall.  After several days of trial and error I rounded out this  fun Four Season set of designs.  I offered a tutorial which included all four designs to my customers when they purchased the bundle.

I enjoy having a great way to be creative and share what I love.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I had designing them.

I have a sparkly Monday!  Thank you for stopping by today.

Happy Birthday Embossed Cherries

DSP Cherry On Top - Embossed Cherries

When I think of summer cherries come to mind.  Cherries season is in full swing and I had fun creating this adorable pair of embossed cherries.  When I look at this card it makes me want to head to the fridge and munch some yummy cherries……mmmmmmmmm.  Lol!

CARD BASE:  Basic Black topped with two rectangle layers in Watermelon Wonder (one of the new In Colors for 2015-17) and the Cherry Print from the Cherry On Top Designer Series Paper Stack.  (TIP:  If your card base color is dark cut a piece of coordinating lighter cardstock to place on the inside so you can see your stamped sentiment or written note.)

FOCAL POINT:  Well. they are the cherries of course.  Lol!  I started with two layered circles in Watermelon Wonder and Whisper White, popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Next I die cut two of the larger Petal Shapes (Watermelon Wonder) and one of the larger Leaf Shapes (Cucumber Crush) from the Bouquet BigzL Die.  I rounded the petals shapes to look like cherries and then heat embossed with VersaMark and clear embossing powder.  Then I punched two sprigs from the Bird Builder Punch in Cucumber Crush as well, trimming away the leaves.  I sponged the leaves and sprigs with Cucumber Crush in to give more depth.  Finally, I glued the sprigs and leaves and then popped the “Cherries” with Dimensionals.

SENTIMENT:  This design could be used for most any occasion.  I chose Happy Birthday.  First I stamped, on a narrow Whisper White strip, in Momento Tuxedo Black ink and a second time slightly off-set in Real Red ink.  I was going for a dimensional shadow look.  It’s not exactly what I was expecting but hey, I’m okay with it.  Lol!  To add more dimension I placed two stacked dimensionals in the middle of the banner and used a glue dot on either end to give a flowing banner look.

CARD: Work of Art Summer Watermelon

Too Much Happy Watermelon

Whenever I think of summer a juicy and sweet slice of watermelon comes to mind.  Mmmmmm.  This is the first of five designs we created in August’s Card Class.  It features the Work of Art stamp set.  We heat embossed “you can never have too much happy” with Basic Black embossing powder and a strip of Basic Black cardstock, which we then punched hearts from the Owl Builder punch.  TIP:  I have this set in Clear Mount which allowed me to mount the narrow straight stamp (rind) at a curve to match the larger curved watermelon shape.  This sweet inspiration is from Jill Hilliard.

Num-Num Sweetie Pie

Happy hump day!  I hope your week is going well.  Yesterday I went to see a movie with the Hubster.  We saw Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.  It was actually very good and the back story really hooked me.  A must see.  After we got back Derek went to check the mail and stopped to chat with our neighbor and their daughter came out and let him know it was her 8th birthday and all the fun things they where going to do that evening.  Girls just love to chat with him (I think it’s because he’s cute and he listens to them).  When he came in the house and told me, I immediately went into my stash and pulled out a cute birthday card we made in class many moons ago (a punch art tutu dress).  I also pulled 6 juvenile cards to give her for a gift.  About 45 minutes later there’s a knock at the door and she handed us a piece of paper with a hand written note by her thanking us for the gift of cards.  How sweet was that!  Now on to today’s post………

Num-Num Sweetie Pie

I am excited to say this is the third project I’ve made with the Num-Num stamp set.  Woohoo!  You can check out the Hamburger Box with belly band and Just a Little Something for You“.  When I saw this tag it made me think of a cherry pie (I love cherry pies).  The base starts with Soft Suede.  Face layers of Real Red and Whisper White which I stamped (in Real Red) to look like a table cloth with the long narrow strip from Work of Art stamp set popped up with dimensionals.  I wrapped Early Espresso 1/4″ cotton ribbon around the face layers before applying to the base.  The pie crust is made from a Crumb Cake 2-3/8″ scallop and  1-7/8″ circles lightly sponged with Crumb Cake ink.  To mimic the tag I added a slightly larger circle (2″) edge in Chocolate Chip.  I was thinking what would make the center holes in the pie crust and while looking through my punches I saw the Cupcake Builder punch and had my a-ha moment!  They are punched from Cherry Cobbler embossed Real Red.  The scallop circle is popped with dimensionals.  Next the tag was stamped with Soft Suede and hand trimmed.  Then I stamped again onto Whisper White with Versamark and heat embossed with Cherry Cobbler then trimmed the “pie” banner and hand cut pie circle then adhered these to the tag.  Finally, the tag is popped with dimensionals.  This totally makes me want to have a piece of cherry pie.  Lol!  Thank you for stopping by and hope you have a great day!
