Sparkly Peacock Feathers

Sparkly Peacock Feathers

Do you think I used enough sparkle? Lol! Today’s Sparkly Peacock Feathers share is full of sparkle, shine and glitteriness. This is my second design using the Royal Peacock Suite.

The Royal Peacock Suite was at the top of my “must have” list from the new 2019-20 Annual Catalog. I love the Noble Peacock Foils (Old Olive, Pretty Peacock and Blueberry Bushel). That is how I chose the color palette for this design.

BASE: I started with Bermuda Bay topped with another layer of Bermuda Bay embossed with the Beads & Baubles Emboss Folder. Next is the Bermuda Bay band with Blueberry Bushel foil peeking out on either side.

PEACOCK: I started with the Peacock from the Detailed Peacock Dies in Old Olive. Next I added fun, sparkly circles with Gold Glimmer, Pretty Peacock Foil, Blueberry Bushel Foil and of course an Old Olive Noble Peacock Rhinestone. For my inspiration on “of course” scoured Pinterest and found several images of peacocks among other things and created this combination. Finally, the body of the peacock is more of the Blueberry Bushel Foil.

SENTIMENT: Staying with the Old Olive and Blueberry Bushel Foil theme I embossed the sentiment onto Old Olive and cut using the Stitched Nested Labels and a slightly larger Blueberry Bushel label.

If you’ve been on the fence about the Royal Peacock Suite make sure to come back and check out my third design in a few days. It’s a wowzer! It’ll have you saying “dang, I really need to get that”. (giggle) I’d love to be your demonstrator and earn your business.

Oh So Succulent Sparkly Flirty Bird

Oh So Succulent Sparkly Flirty Bird

I just LOVE this little lady!!!  What a fun and sparkly flirty bird featuring the Oh So Succulents Bundle.  This sweetie makes me do my “happy chair dance” each time I look at it.  (smile) I came across an inspiring card on Pinterest (Yeah baby!) and instantly thought of Big Bird from Sesame Street.  (Giggles)  Thank you to for the inspiration, you can see the card here.

Well, I didn’t really want to do an all yellow bird so I went with shades of pink.  (Hello….my favorite color.  Lol!)  I also had loads of fun working with all the bits and pieces in the Succulent Framelits Die Set.

SPARKLY FLIRTY BIRD:  I started with the bird body first using the four the four varying sizes of 8-petal shapes.  Sponging the edges with Flirty Flamingo and Blushing Bride ink to add dimension.  [TIP:  The center flowers are Whisper White sponged with Blushing Bride.]  Then I stamped the ends of the petals with VersaMark and heat embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  [Heat & Stick emboss powder with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter would work too.]  All the other shapes where sponged as well to add dimension.  The tufts were stamped in Pool Party and die cut.  They coordinate with the “legs and beak” which were also emboss with the Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  Love it!

BASE:  She ended up being large then I expected so I had to place her on a 5″ x 7″ size card instead of the normal A2 size (4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″).  To make her pop I opted for a Whisper White base.  I embossed a face layer with the Brick Wall embossing folder then adhering it to the base.  Then I tore the edges of two Old Olive/Pear Pizzazz strips and sponged the edges as well.  Sponging the edges makes ALL the difference.

SENTIMENT:  There are several sentiments included with this stamp set.  Woohoo!  I love the “special person”, it goes fabulously with this Sparkly Flirty guy.  Woohoo!  I am sad that this bundle is on the retiring list.  [You can check it out here.]  Make sure to order soon before it’s gone.  ALSO……the individual Framelits and Stamp Set are on sale which makes them cheaper then purchasing the bundle.  Just sayin’!

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you have a great weekend and Easter!  AND I hope you enjoyed this fun and sparkly Oh So Succulent punch art bird.

Let It Snow – Snowman

450pxl Sparkly Seasons Snowman

Happy post Thanksgiving AND Black Friday!  I hope you had a wonderful and Happy Thanksgiving.  We laid low and stayed home and relaxed.  I did make our Thanksgiving favorites.  A turkey breast cooked using our Ronco Rotisserie (it is the best way to cook a turkey), red potatoes and semi-homemade gravy, stovetop stuffing (Derek won’t eat anything else.  Lol!), fruit salad, twice baked stuffed candied yams (OMG!  these were delish and not a lot of mess) and of course my yummy “better then pumpkin pie cups”.   I have so much to be thankful for that I put it all into my meal cooking this year.  The good and the sad make us stronger, so I wish you and yours and wonderful holiday season.

Today’s card is the second project we created in my November Class.  It features the adorable snowman from the Sparkly Seasons stamp set.  This card came about by me having leftover square of Pear Pizzazz and Pool Party from October Class projects.  Yeah, baby, make use of what you have lying around!

BASE:  The card base is 4-1/4″ square in Mossy Meadow.  The leftover Pear Pizzazz square was cut in half diagonally the layered beneath the leftover Pool Party square.  A square of Cardstock Vellum was embossed with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder (it gives the look of falling snow).  [TIP:  Put adhesive the length of the snowman and across the bottom.]  The square is popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

FOCAL POINT:  The adorable snowman, from the Sparkly Seasons stamp set, it having fun in the falling snow.  The snow drifts are two Extra-Large Ovals.  I stamped the snowman onto the Vellum with Momento Tuxedo Black then embossed with Clear Embossing Powder to set.  [TIP:  Using StaZon Ink gums up the Photopolymer stamp and will actually tear the paper because it gets super sticky.]  Then adhere the two Extra-Large Ovals.  Next, stamp the snowman onto Whisper White, color with Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party and Pumpkin Pie markers.  Then fussy cut the snowman minus his arms (yeah!) and pop him with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added a wee bit of Dazzling Details glitter glue to his hat band and tassel.

SENTIMENT:  The “Let It” is also from the Sparkly Seasons stamp set.  It was stamped onto Whisper White with Momento Tuxedo Black, fussy cut into a rectangle and popped with a half Stampin’ Dimensional.  [TIP:  place a small glue dot behind this to hold the top of the Vellum down.]  The “snow” is the from Seasonal Frame Thinlits Dies.  It was cut from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and glued with the fine-tip liquid glue.  [TIP:  Make sure to peel off the plastic backing before die cutting.  The glue will stick better and faster to the paper backing.]

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I hope you have a good Black Friday and weekend!

Sparkly Seasons Snow Globe Ballerina

2 500pxl Sparkly Seasons Ballerina 1

Good Monday morning!  I had a very productive weekend.  Saturday morning I got my oil changed, car washed, did my banking and even grocery shopped.  I was on a roll and felt great when I was done.  Having done all that first I was able to spend the rest of the day my studio working on a fun project I will be offering at a retreat in late October.  Wahoo!!!  I got it done and even spent time with my hubby.  😎

Today I’m sharing the second (of 5) designs we created in my classes this month.  It features the Sparkly Seasons stamp set along with the coordinating Seasonal Frame Thinlits Die set.  When I first found it in the new Holiday Catalog I was “I’m so all over that!”  All the images are adorable, but I just love the ballerina.  I remember being in grade school and taking ballet, but alas it was short lived.  Lol!  A big shout out to Sharon Langford for her cute Snowman Globe fun fold inspiration that I found on Pinterest!  Now, let’s get down to the nitty gritty.

2 500pxl Sparkly Seasons Ballerina 2

BASE CARD:  The base is Pink Pirouette that I divided into almost thirds (3-1/2″ + 3-5/8″ + 3-1/2″).  I wanted the flaps to lay flat so I made the center 1/8″ wider to give the flaps extra room.  I first scored each side then cut down 4″ and across at 1-1/2″.  I also rounded the corners to give a softer feel to go with all the roundness of the globe and its base.

FOCAL POINT:  Why it’s the ballerina within the snowglobe.  The “globe” if made with the circle die from the Seasonal Frame Thinlits Dies and a 1/4″ (or so) larger circle from the Circles Collection Framelits Dies in Silver Foil.  I also cut a Window Sheet circle from the larger circle die.  I used 1/8″ double stick tear tape around the ring and then placed onto the window sheet circle.  I left about an 1″ or so of the tape covered at the bottom, creating an opening to slip over either side of the front flap (the silver ring on the front and the window sheet on the back.  Then I carefully peeled the tape covering off and pressed to secure.  Next I Silver heat emboss one base and another in Smoky Slate, then hand cut.  [TIP: I didn’t want it to get too thick so I stamped in regular ink for the inside flap base.  The front flap base is glued flat at the top with a row of Stampin’ Dimensionals cut in half at the bottom.  The ballerina is stamped onto Whisper White with Smoky Slate then colored with Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride and Crumb Cake.  The tutu is covered with Dazzling Details Glitter.  After cutting her out I applied her to an 1/8″ strip of Window Sheet, using 1/8″ double stick.  She is applied the front of the inside flap then the remain base is adhered to cover the Window Sheet strip.

SENTIMENT:  The sentiment at the top is from the Remembering Your Birthday Stamp Set stamped onto a Whisper White band with Smoky Slate ink then layered onto a Silver Foil band.  The interior “Globe” is Whisper White stamped with the “Sparkly Snow” in Smoky Slate.  The circle is die cut from the larger circle used for the Window Sheet globe.  I placed the globe onto the back and then laid the front flap over, adjusting the globe so it matched.  Holding the interior globe, move the front flap I made a very light pencil mark around the bottom.  I then adhered the globe using the pencil mark at the bottom to line up.  I erased the pencil mark with the white eraser.  For the final touch I stamped Happy Birthday just below the bottom of the interior globe.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you have a great Monday!  I look forward to your comments.
