Vertical Greetings Happy Birthday

Vertical Greeting Happy Birthday

Hooray for scraps! I always seems to have scraps laying around on my table. This design was inspired by Gingham Gala strips from a previous project. I was playing with the colorful Organdy Sale-a-bration Ribbon Pack and coordinating Gingham Gala Designer Paper strips (scraps) and created this bright and springy Vertical Greetings Happy Birthday design.

I had just gotten the Rectangle Stitched dies and thought they would be a perfect fit with the ribbon. After playing with a strip of ribbon in each of the five colors I thought wouldn’t it be cool to have them floating in a cut out. Then I pondered how I could make the ribbon float without showing on the inside. Haha!!! Add a front layer and cut through both layers. That was the ticket!!! [TIP: It really needed something so I embossed the front with the Subtle Embossing Folder……oh yeah!]

Next the Gingham Gala strips came into play. I was trying different stamps for the cut out and had my second “ha-ha” moment. The rectangle cutout with the strips adhered to match the ribbon on the card front. Then adhere the rectangle to fit within the cut-out on the card back. I did my super happy chair dance. Woohoo!

Finally I contemplated what sentiment I wanted. I couldn’t find anything that made me happy. No pun intended……Lol! After going through all my stamp sets I came across the Vertical Greetings set and new it would be perfect. I went a step further and made the sentiment float within the cutout. There was a narrow strip of window sheet on my desk and I placed it between the layers like the ribbon strips. Then I adhered the sentiment with glue dots to the window strip. Voila’!!!

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed today’s bright and springy design and are inspired to get your stamping mojo on! Have a great day!

Love What You Do – Floral Friend

Love What You Do - Floral Friend

I have been having more fun playing with the early release pre-buy “I Want It All” Share What You Love Suite.  I know!……it was a mouthful.  Lol!  This is my fourth design using the Share What You love Designer Paper from the above suite.  This time I opted for a different designer paper from the designer paper pack that is included in the “I Want It All” special early release.  You can find out all about this lovely new suite/bundle by clicking here.  The Mossy Meadow and Rich Razzleberry make for a bold statement on this Share What You Love – Floral Friend card.

BASE:  The base is Mossy Meadow, one of the newly added colors in the Stampin’ Up!’ Color Revamp.  Next I layered the base with squares of Rich Razzleberry and Shimmery White.  I love the subtle shimmer the Shimmery White cardstock give.  To dimension and height the layered squares were popped with Dimensionals.

SQUARES:  A cool feature of this design are the squares.  Yes, you can make nine (9) of these cards from one 12″ x 12″ square of designer paper, and a bit left over to make even more cards.  This is a great easy way to produce multiple cards at one time.  [TIP:  You could also use different left over squares of designer paper to create a coordinated collage as well.]  The favorite thing I love about this specialty paper pack is that four (4) of the designs include shimmer in their design.  Love it!!!

I cut a 3-1/4″ x 3-1/2″ square(ish).  Then trimmed away a 1/4″ strip from the 3-1/2″ length to create a 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ square.  Next I cut the square equally into four 1-5/8″ squares.  Two of the squares are wrapped with the Rich Razzleberry 1/4″ Velvet Ribbon.  You don’t know how excited I was to see that this velvet ribbon was carrying over into new 2018-19 Annual Catalog.  Woohoo!  To add the second level of height I popped the squares with Dimensionals.

SENTIMENT:  Finally, I topped the squares with the “I’m Lucky To Have A Friend Like You” sentiment from the Love What You Do stamp set.  It was punched with a 2″ circle which just happened to fit centered between the ribbon.  It just happened, I was even trying.  [smile]  Then for the third level of height I popped it with Dimensionals as well.

Love What You Do - Floral Friend Interior

I’ve started embellishing the inside of my designs so they feel “finished”.  Here is the inside so you can see how simple and easy it can be.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you enjoyed today’s clean and simple Love What You Do – Floral Friend design.  Have a great Monday!

May Your Season Sparkle

May Your Season Sparkle

We are sliding into 2018!  I can’t believe how quickly this year has gone by.  2017 has been such an amazing roller coaster.  Today’s share is a clean and simple “May Your Season Sparkle” design that takes what you might think of as Christmas and reimagine it.

When I first saw the Add A Little Glitz stamp set I knew “I had” to have it.  Hello……”Sparkle”!  Lol!!!  I set out to create a non-Christmas design.  The black and white designs in the Merry Little Christmas designer series paper are perfect for a New Years card.  (At least that’s what I’m going with.  Lol!!!)

The Vellum band, shimmer ribbon and white embossing give several different layers of shine.  Yay!  Yes……I did fussy cut the sentiment.  What can I say, I’m a glutton for punishment.  [giggle]

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you have a wonderful and safe New Year.  AND May Your Season Sparkle. Love and hugs!

Everyday Label Punch Art Sled

Everyday Label Punch Art Sled

Can you believe it?  There are only 17 sleeps until Christmas!  Eek!  This holiday season is going by so fast.  Today’s share is the second of four from my November Card Class.  When I came across Frenchie Martin’s Punch Art Sled I thought it was just adorable.  I also thought it was a fun way to keep the holiday season light and full of flurries.  [giggle]  I modified Frenchie’s by using the gobs of Wood Textured Designer Series Paper I have in my “stash”.  Okay let’s be honest…..my DSP hoard.

BASE:  The Soft Sky base is topped with Whisper White pieces torn on an angle and layered to create a sloped look that the sled could slide down.  First, to add some sparkle the torn pieces are spritzed with Wink of Stella.  Yes, Wink of Stella.  I opened the tube and poured it into a Stampin’ Spritzer, then spritzed onto the “slopes”.  Then they were layered onto the the Soft Sky base with the torn edges curled slightly.  This creates a super sparkly look in real life.  [sparkle, baby!]

SLED:  The Sled is made using 1/4″ strips of Silver Foil, then topped with an Everyday Label Punch body and finally a Duet Banner Punch Handle using the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper.  The curved handle gives an old timey look.  This is achieved by punching the Duet Banner piece, then cutting it in half and finally trimming the ends straight.  1/8″ silver ribbon creates the steering rein and is then attached with glue dots.  [Twine would be a great choice as well.]

SENTIMENT:  After scouring my holiday stamp sets this sentiment from Flurry of Wishes jumped out at me.  It fit the snow theme perfectly.  Then by embossing with White Emboss Powder you get another layer of shine. Woohoo!

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoyed today’s share.  If you’ve “gotta make it”  you can purchase supplies online at my Stampin’ Up! site below, just click on any image.

Label Me Pretty Bundle, Stamp Together

Label Me Pretty Bundle

With the new catalog going live June 1st our local demonstrator group, lead by our fearless leader (Barb Brimhall – BZB Stampers) organized a “Stamp Together”.  This gave us the chance to play with and test out loads of new items before purchasing them.  Woohoo!  Today’s designs from the Stamp Together feature the Label Me Pretty Bundle.

This Label Me Pretty Bundle set of cards were designed by yours truly……that’d be me.  [smile]  The stamp set and coordinating punch open up possibilities for a variety of designs by using just the stamp set, the punch or both together.  My “clean & simple” design esthetic is front and center with these fun and bright designs.  I must confess I didn’t think I was going to be a fan of the new In Color Lemon Lime Twist.  OMGosh!!!  I so take it back.  As you can see I have fallen IN LOVE with this new In Color.

A few of the new items I chose to use in my designs where of course the Label Me Pretty Stamp Set, the Pretty Label Punch, the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack and the yummy Powder Pink 1/2″ Finely Woven Ribbon.

UPPER LEFT CARD:  I went outside my usual card design box and created a rather fun “slide-out” card.  It has a pocket that you slide the message into and includes a cute pull using the Pretty Label Punch and Powder Pink Ribbon.  AND I added a layer to the pocket from the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack in the new In Color, Lemon Lime Twist.

UPPER RIGHT CARD:  This was my first design so of course it doesn’t include Flirty Flamingo in its color palette.  Lol!  I did incorporate a band of Silver Foil to add shine.  [grin]  In this design I added subtle texture by tearing the edges of the Lemon Lime Band.  Next I used an oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits and topped it with the Pretty Label Punch shape stamped with an image from the Label Me Pretty Stamp Set.  I was feeling ornery and had them fussy cut the banner.  [cheeky grin]

CENTER BOTTOM:  I must say this is my favorite of the bunch.  I LOVE the bright and cheery feeling I get when I look at it.  It features the Pretty Label Punch and fabulous new In Colors Lemon Lime Twist and Powder Pink. [TIP:  Rather then using a dark narrow layer to frame the bright colors I used white.  It gives a totally different look and lighter feel.  LOVE IT!]  I also used the cool Stitched Shapes Framelits squares.  These guys add a subtle faux stitched effect on the edges giving a nice finished look.  Sweet!

[I was having a “woe is me” moment while designing these guys.  I have something that I truly miss and want to share with you.  There are times when I would LOVE to add a layer or two of textured cardstock.  It adds just the perfect amount of subtle texture and takes a design to the next level.  I so miss our coordinating textured cardstock……I’m just sayin’.]  Okay, I’m done now and feel much better for having shared that with you.  [smile]

I hope you have enjoyed this group of fun and bright designs featuring the Label Me Pretty Bundle.  I also hope you enjoyed the variety of designs featuring loads of new items from the now live 2017-18 Annual Catalog.  AND that you are inspired to get stamping and let your creativity flow.

Thank you for stopping by and have a stampingly wonderful Friday and weekend!
