Black & White Pearl Peacock

Black & White Pearl Peacock

I had so many ideas floating around in my head when I saw the Noble Peacock Suite. This Black & White Pearl Peacock was a fun use of heat embossing and loads of pearls.

You know I love the Long and Narrow card base. (3-1/4″ x 5-1/2″) This lovely peacock from the Royal Peacock stamp set was a perfect fit for this size. The heating embossing with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder gave this design the first layer of sparkle.

After I embossed the peacock it was still missing something. It’s just a feeling that I had. [smile] My “A-ha” was Basic Jewels Pearls and boy did they finish the perfectly. Okay, here we go with the second layer of sparkle.

After pondering what sentiment to use, I went with “so very proud of you”. I heat embossed it with white and cut the circle using the Layering Circles Dies. To add some height I popped it with Dimensionals. Guess what??? This is the third layer of sparkle. [Woohoo!]

Thank you stopping by today. I hope today’s clean and simple Black & White Pearl Peacock design inspires you to get your hands inky. If you need a demonstrator I’d be happy to help.

Tabs for Everything Welcome Baby

Tabs for Everything Welcome Baby

Woohoo!  Today’s share is the third design using the Tabs for Everything stamp set.  This Tabs for Everything Welcome Baby card is the perfect clean and simple, gender neutral design.  So Sweet!

Do you have any stamp sets you haven’t inked up in your stash?  I have several……to be honest, quite a few.  Lol!  After perusing my stamps I felt my Tabs for Everything stamp set would be perfect to ink up.  With today’s share you’ll see it’s not just for tabs!

I love challenging myself to create outside the box so I feel like I’m getting my money’s worth when purchasing.  Hey……at least I try to do this.  Lol!

This is my third clean and simple design using Pear Pizzazz, Highland Heather and Balmy Blue.  Today’s design uses just the “Mini Elephant” this time from the Tabs for Everything stamp set.

FOCAL POINT:  The “mini elephants” were randomly stamped creating a background cut with a Laying Ovals Die.  A double layer of Velum cut 2 sizes larger (I think) backs the smaller oval.  This was popped with Dimensionals layered over three varying sized strips in Pear Pizzazz, Highland Heather and Balmy Blue.  [TIP:  When making this again I would use the Faux Suede technique on the card base bands.  It would add a nice subtle texture.]

SENTIMENT:  The “welcome, baby” is pieced together from the Baby Bear Stamp Set.  What???  Yes, I cut and pieced the “welcome” and “,baby” together.  That is another amazing thing about our Photopolymer stamps.  AND it is a lot easier to place the words within in the banner outline from the Thoughtful Banners Stamp Set.  After heat embossing it is easily punch out it with the Duet Banner punch.  Woohoo!  I popped this with Dimensionals as well.

For the final finishing sparkle touch I added several Glitter Enamel Dots.  These are cool in that they come in a variety of shades from very light to dark.  I choose the lightest ones to not overpower the Pear Pizzazz.  They add just the perfect amount of sparkle.  LOVE IT!

A thank you to Natalie Lapakko for her inspiration to create this adorable gender neutral Tabs for Everything Welcome Baby card.

I hope you enjoyed today clean & simple, gender neutral Tabs for Everything Welcome Baby design.  Let’s get out there and get inky.  Have a great day!

Stamparatus Hello Friend Goldfish

Stamparatus Hello Friend Goldfish

Today’s share is the second card we created in my June Stamping Saturday Class.  I’m calling it my Stamparatus Hello Friend Goldfish.  [Giggles]  If you haven’t heard Stampin’ Up! has created the Stamparatus and it’s now available in the 2018-19 Annual Catalog.  Woohoo!

You might be thinking……”What is a Stamparatus and why do I need one?”  Oh boy, let me share my excitement with you.  The Stamparatus is The Best stamp positioning tool on the market!  It allows you to stamp an image multiple times in the exact same place each time.  OMGosh……Yes!  It also works great with multiple step stamping sets!  AND the plates are easily reversible so you have 4 surfaces to place your stamps.  Woohoo!

When I was ready to begin designing for this project I did some research on the internet and found a cute video by Susan Levasseur showing how to create a template that let’s you stamp “wreath” style designs with ease.  Woohoo!  [I set up my template using a 3-7/8″ x 3-7/8″ square]

My inspiration came from a fun design I came across on Pinterest by Susan Horr.  You can check it  out here.  I was drawn to the bright colors she used.  After a bit of trial and not necessarily errors I used this lovely color combination.

1)   The base starts with Bermuda Bay layered with Silver Foil and Whisper White squares.

[TIP:  You need to cut both circles from the Silver Foil Square before adhering it.  It awesome when you get more bang for your buck!]

2)   The large circle was punched into the Silver Foil square as far in as possible with a 2-1/4″ Circle punch.  Then the 1-3/8″ Silver Foil circle was punched from the center of the 2-1/4″ circle.  [TIP:  The large circle will look like a donut.]

Stamparatus Hello Friend Goldfish Circles

3)   Stamp the images from the Jar of Love (Goldfish) and Eastern Beauty (Bubble Circles, Hello & Corner Dots) onto Whisper White using Mango Melody and Pool Party inks.  [TIP: Ink Spots work best when using smaller images.]

4)   Cut the “hello” circle using the Layering Circle Framelits.

5)   Stamp “Friend” from the Jar of Love stamp set on a scrap of Whisper White with Bermuda Bay ink.  Punch out with a 1-1/4″ Circle punch.

6)   Adhere the Silver Foil and Whisper White squares to the Bermuda Bay base.

7)   Adhere the Whisper White circles onto their accompanying Silver Foil circles.

8)   Apply the large and small layered circles with Dimensionals.

I hope you enjoyed today’s Stamparatus Hello Friend Goldfish card.  AND you are inspired to get your hands inky.  [grin]

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Tuscan Vineyard Grapes

Tuscan Vineyard Grapes

After seeing many wonderful samples of the Tuscan Vineyard stamp set I thought “dang it, I have to get that set”.  Lol!  Today’s post is the first design from my June Stamp Class……my Tuscan Vineyard Grapes.

I used the new color Gorgeous Grape along with Old Olive.  The colors together give this design an amazing punch of color.

BASE:  The Crumb Cake base starts with a layer of Gorgeous Grape.  Then another layer of Crumb Cake that I stamped a frame of “Corks” in Crumb Cake ink.  [TIP:  Stamp the top and bottom first, then fill in with the sides.]  This tone on tone gives a nice all over background when the Old Olive rectangle is layered on top.  Love it!

BACKGROUND:  I had been working on the design for a while and it wasn’t quite coming together.  I started thinking what isn’t working and then I realized it was too structured (straight lines).  My aha moment was……HELLO……try tearing the edges……perfect!  It gives an amazing texture and just enough of a rustic feel.  Woohoo!  This layer I then popped with Dimensionals.

The “Grapes” image from the Tuscan Vineyard stamp set was stamped onto Shimmery White with Stazon Black.  I went with Shimmery White because Very Vanilla was too “dark” and Whisper White was too bright.  The Shimmery White is just the right mix of each.

The “Grapes” were colored with Gorgeous Grape, Old Olive and Soft Suede inks.  I’ve seen on many colored images that they lightly outline the image, I tried this in Smoky Slate and it was amazing how it made it pop.  Next I cut the image with a Layering Ovals Framelit.  I cut two more ovals in Gorgeous Grape.  You cut one Gorgeous Grape oval in half horizontally and the other vertically.  This is the easiest way to get a narrow (1/16″) reveal.  The stacked ovals were adhered to the Old Olive torn layer.  I was doing my “happy chair dance”.  [giggle]

Tuscan Vineyard Grapes Inside

To finish the inside I layered Gorgeous Grape and Whisper White.  Then I added strip of Crumb Cake stamped with the “Corks” another of the fun images included with this rustic stamp set in Crumb Cake in as well.  Finally I tore the edges here as well to tie in with the card front.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you have a great day and come back soon.

Glossy Smoosh Foil Hello

Glossy Smoosh Foil Hello

Glossy paper and smooshing make for a pretty and dramatic effect.  This Glossy Smoosh Foil Hello is the second card from my April stamp class.  We used a design from the Springtime Foil Sale-a-bration Designer Paper for this technique.

Mix Glossy Cardstock and ink with a spritzing of water and you too can create this simply fun technique.  I fell in love with the Springtime Foil Sale-a-bration Specialty Designer Paper.  So this was a no brainer in my book.

You could heat emboss images into Glossy Cardstock or use plain Glossy Cardstock.  Night of Navy, Island Indigo and Elegant Eggplant make for a dramatic color combination.

FRONT:  Take a Window Sheet rectangle (6″ x 12″) and fold in half.  Then scribble random splotches of color using Elegant Eggplant, Night of Navy and Island Indigo markers (or any combination of 3 colors).  Next lightly spritz coloring with water, then place Glossy Cardstock into the folder with Glossy side onto the spritzed color.  Finally, fold the Window Sheet folder together pressing all around to “smoosh” the colors together.

When you open the folder, carefully lift cardstock and blot with a smooth paper towel.  [TIP: If you get paper towel markings just keep rubbing until smoothed out.]  Set it aside and let dry while you complete the rest of the card.

BASE:  The base is Elegant Eggplant.  Then layer with a square of Island Indigo and Springtime Foil Sale-a-bration Designer Paper popped with Dimensionals.

Apply the band of Island Indigo with the Faux Suede technique before applying.

SENTIMENT:  “Hello” from Oh Happy Day Stamp Set (vintage) was embossed in Gold into Silver Foil.  Punch “hello” and Island Indigo circles.  Layer circles and then pop with Dimensionals.

Glossy Smoosh Foil Hello Interior

Here is the interior of the card.  The “leaf” from the Falling Flowers stamp set was the closest match to the Springtime Foil Sale-a-bration Designer Paper so that is what I used.  It was Silver Embossed to mimic the designer paper.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you were inspired by this Glossy Smoosh Foil Hello design.  Let’s go get our fingers inky and have some fun.
