Happy Birthday Gorgeous – Just Because Floral

Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Just Because

There are times when I’m designing that I create one design then I’m inspired to create a second.  Well……then I say “what the heck” I should create a third one.  Lol!  This is the first of three designs featuring the Happy Birthday Gorgeous Stamp Set.  This stamp set has a variety of images and shapes that makes it easy to create a variety of different designs.

BASE:  For the base I started with a Long & Narrow size in Pink Pirouette.  I trimmed 7/8″ from the front lengthwise.  Next I cut a 1″ Melon Mambo strip and used the Faux Suede technique to give a bit of texture by adhering it to the right edge of the base.

EMBOSSED FLOWERS:  After several attempts I went with Silver Embossing the flowers to add shine.  First, I stamped the solid flower several times in Pink Pirouette and Melon Mambo then silver embossed the flower outline.  Then I fussy cut each large flower.  Next I punched several flower shapes and layered them into the opposite color flower.  I love the visual depth this gives each flower.  The flowers were adhered to a 3/4″ Silver Foil strip then popped with Dimensionals onto a 1-1/4″ Vellum strip.  Finally, I adhered the Vellum strip to the right edge of the card front.  I love the layered look and depth this gives the design.

SENTIMENT:  Well, I finally got to use my Vertical Greetings Stamp Set.  Woohoo!  I was inspired to add the sentiment that was heat embossed in Silver onto a vellum strip.  It was then adhered to the back side of the card front.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you enjoyed today’s post.  Until next time happy stamping!

Just for You – Sale-A-Bration Botanicals

2016 SAB Botanicals for You 1

Good Friday morning.  It’s amazing to think we’ve made it through our first week of 2016.  2015 was a roller coaster with it’s ups an down but it left me wanting more.  Let’s make 2016 even better and jump on the roller coaster again and scream even louder.  I want to say I really appreciate your popping over to my blog and thank you & have a great weekend.

Today’s post features more items from the new Occasions Catalog.  Woohoo!!!  There are so many beautiful, cute and cool things I really had to contain myself.  (Yeah, right.  Lol!)  This designs uses the Sale-A-Bration stamp set Botanicals For You as well as Designer Series Paper from the It’s My Party Designer Series Paper Stack.  I liked playing with the bold and soft color palette [Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo and Mint Macaron].  Of course there is a bit of bling with the embossing and sequins.  Lol!

CARD BASE:  This called to me “make me into a Long and Narrow size card”.  [grin]  I started with Daffodil Delight to add brightness layered with Island Indigo (for the bold statement) and It’s My Party Designer Series Paper Stack.  To ground things I added Island Indigo 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon tied into a cute bow at the bottom.  What can I say, I did pop the Island Indigo layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals for added height.  Lol!

SENTIMENT:  I embossed the “just for you” using a cool technique.  Lightly stamp onto a Versamark pad then stamp onto your color-of-choice ink pad.  Next stamp onto cardstock and quickly cover with clear embossing powder,  then heat until shiny.  Viola…..coordinating color embossing.  I used this bold sentiment from the Botanical For You Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set.  It is Island Indigo ink stamped onto Whisper White cardstock.  I just had to fussy cut this puppy out and pop with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Finally I completed the sparkly with a few Gold Sequins to finish it.

Have a great Friday and weekend!

More Convention Swaps (part 4)

2015 SU Convention Swaps 04

This is going to be a good Friday.  Why you ask?  My boss was out yesterday and is today as well, so I am able to get things caught up and ready for next week with payroll and then rolling right into billings.

This weekend I’ll be working my mail-in swaps.  I’ve got the designs completed and now I’m on to production.  Derek has been a trooper doing A LOT of big shot-ing for me.  We are not allowed to post our creations until after swap is complete, so I won’t be able to post these until after September 1oth.  Keep your eyes open for loads of creative ideas, other then just mine.  Lol!  Okay, today’s post is more inspiration from other demonstrators as well.  But, hey, these are from the annual catalog not the new Holiday Catalog that goes live September 1st.  Woohoo!!!  Reach out to me if you’d like your very own!

CARD 1  (TOP LEFT):  I really like the clean lines and simplicity of this card.  It features the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack, Endless Thanks stamp set and the Butterfly Thinlits Die Set.  [TIP:  This would also be a great way to use up some of those scraps we always seem to have lying around.]  This fluttering beauty was created by Marcia Gay.

CARD 2  (TOP RIGHT):  This card has a lot of “wow” factor going on.  (pun intended.  Lol!)  It starts with the Decorative Dots embossing on the card base.  The “WOW” is from the What’s Your Type stamp set stamped in Mint Macaron, Tip Top Taupe and VersaMark.  The stripes are Gold embossed.  Love it!  The “thanks” sentiment is from the Greetings Thinlits Die Set.  Finally, it is finished off with bits from the Metallics Sequin Assortment, a length of Gold Sequin Trim and a wee bit of Tip Top Taupe Dotted Lace Trim.  I really like all that’s going on, just short of too much but not quite.  Great job Heather Heroldt on a wonderfully golden swap.

CARD 3  (BOTTOM):  When I first saw the From Land to Sea stamp set I fell in love.  I’m a cancer and I love the water/sea.  So this lovely, calming and sweet turtle design is one of my favorites.  The base is embossing with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder which adds a bit of texture.  Next is the Coral from the “By The Sea” stamp set and then the adorable Sea Turtle from the From Land to Sea stamp set.  He is fussy cut and popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals to help him stand out.  Finally, the Just A Note sentiment is from the sweetly amazing stamp set Watercolor Wishes.  Thank you so much Sheila Miller for this wonderfully sweet card.

I hope you have a great Friday and weekend as well.  Take care and I’ll see you next week.

Mojo Monday #353

Mojo Monday 353

I was intrigued with the Mojo Monday #353 layout by Julee Tilman.  I’ve been wanting to design with the Moonlight Designer Series Paper stack and thought this would be a good challenge for me.  The color palette of this DSPS is a bit out of my comfort zone but I jumped in with both feet.  I started with a Soft Sky base.  The rectangle is triple layered with Basic Gray, Hello Honey and Dotted Moonlight DSPS.  The Lost Lagoon strip was embossed with the Decorative Dots embossing folder which added a subtle bit of texture.  I also triple layered the square with Basic Gray, Hello Honey and the Pennant Moonlight DSPS which I then popped with dimensionals.  Then I stamped the Just Sayin’ sentiment on Soft Sky to tie in with the base and die cut the cloud shape from the Word Bubbles Framelits and popped with dimensionals.  Finally, I gathered one edge of the Hello Honey In Color stitched ribbon and rolling into a rosette adhering with an adhesive circle and topping it off with an extra large rhinestone (I had to get a bit of sparkly in somewhere).  😎
