Bubble Over Bundle Bottle Caps

Bubble Over Bundle Bottle Caps

This is the third design [Bubble Over Bundle Bottle Caps] I had fun creating .  It included the Bubble Over Bundle along with the fun Sale-a-bration Bubbles & Fizz Designer Paper.  This clean and simple design mostly consists of layers popped with Dimensionals for added height.  [More height is a good thing, right?  Lol!]  But it also include some heat embossing and  Faux Suede technique (the squares) for subtle texture and shine.

The “mine stripe” designer paper rectangle and “bottle cap tops” are from the Sale-a-bration Bubbles & Fizz Designer Paper.  [This is only available thru March 31st.]  I have found this paper to be super versatile and fun, I very much enjoyed seeing how many different ways it could be used.  You can see the two additional ways I used it in my “bottles on the wall – for you” and “your kindness“.

When I first saw the Bottles & Bubbles Framelits set I knew I had to have it.  I fell in love with the die cutting AND embossing of the “bottle cap”.  [Love it!]  You might have thought that with the mini stripe designer paper, bottle caps and cap tops there was enough going on visually.  But, the “bottle caps” needed some breathing room so they would pop against the mini stripe designer paper.  No pun intended……Lol!

I have included my color palette so you can see when you go outside your comfort zone you can get creative and “make it work”.  [smile]

I hope you found inspiration in today’s Bubble Over Bundle Bottle Caps gender neutral post and will give this bundle a try.  Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you have a great day!

Colorful Seasons Bundle, Copper Fall Leaves

Happy Saturday!  Today I have the second design from my October Card Class featuring the Colorful Seasons Bundle, Copper Fall Leaves.  I must admit that I haven’t played with our new shiny copper items.  Well I remedied that and had fun with this one……Copper Foil and copper heat embossing.  Woohoo!

CARD BASE:  Guess what?  I couldn’t help myself and went with one of favorite card shapes (long and narrow – 3-1/4″ x 5-1/2″).  I started with Crumb Cake and added a 3/4″ band of Early Espresso which I used another of my favorite subtle texturing adding — Faux Suede.  [super cool!]

SQUARES:  Then I topped this with a trio of squares Cajun Craze (yes, this was WAY OUTSIDE my comfort zone, but I love it!) and layered with a Copper Foil square.  Of course I had to pop them with Dimensionals.  Lol!

LEAVES:  This is a really cool technique.  Usually you use a trio of colors (I went overboard and used four – Lol!) Garden Green, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze.  First you need a baby wipe folded into quarters (make sure the baby wipe is smooth and not an embossed image).  Then add three drops of reinker from each color randomly over a 2″-ish x 2″-ish area.  Stamp the leaf onto the baby wipe pressing firmly (just once – clean and reink each time).  Then stamp onto a piece of Very Vanilla.  Repeat this step two more times.  Let them dry for a few minutes.  Now you get to stamp the large leave outline with VersaMark onto the solid leaf [TIP:  Don’t forget to tap & swipe with your embossing buddy so the embossing powder with only sticks to the stamped image.]  Then sprinkle the leaves with the Copper Embossing Powder, tapping off the extra and heat until shiny.

Woohoo……there is a die for this leaf, making it super east and quick to cut out!!!  The finale-ly is popping the trio of leaves with a Dimensional.  Love it!

This design had me doing my happy chair dance!  All the shine, embossing and “more height”……Sweet!  I just couldn’t decide on a sentiment so guess what?  I didn’t add one.  Sometimes you just don’t have to have one.  [smile]

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoyed today’s Colorful Seasons Bundle, Copper Fall Leaves design.  Have a great weekend!

Every Good Wish, Peace Love Joy

Every Good Wish, Peace Love Joy

Can’t decide if you want to use gold or silver for your Christmas cards.  With the Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper you don’t!  Woohoo!  AND the fabulous Foil Snowflakes are gold on one side and silver on the other.  Double Woohoo!!  Then with the solid Peace Love Joy image from the fun Every Good Wish embossed in gold creates the perfect mix of gold and silver.  Highlighting both!

Today’s post is the second of three designs for our local demonstrator Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog swap.  I enjoy participating in these because you get to see a lot of different stamp sets and what others envision with their set. I lovingly call this design my Every Good Wish, Peace Love Joy.  [hey, why mess with the obvious – giggle!]

The Every Good Wish stamp set lends itself to embossing [and a myriad of other techniques – hint] and the Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper is a perfect companion.  I love the gold and silver designs in the Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper.  AND of course a bit of silver shine with a layer of Silver Foil and the fabulous Foil Snowflakes.

Keeping it simple was a perfect way to show case the Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper, the amazing Foil Snowflakes and Gold Embossing.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you enjoyed today’s Every Good Wish, Peace Love Joy holiday design. Have a great Tuesday!

Every Good Wish, Be Merry

Every Good Wish, Be Merry

All I want to say is I LOVE this new stamp set……Every Good Wish!  I had such fun designing three different swaps for our local New Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog swap.  Today’s design is the first of three featuring the Every Good Wish stamp set.  I also just had to play with the shiny new Foil Snowflakes.  Yay!

Leave it to me to add even more shine.  Lol!  I started with the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper layer, adding a smaller Whisper White layer to rest the Golden Foil Snowflake and Coordinating Old Olive/Clear Embossed “Be Merry” on.  The foil and embossed shine looked FAB but it felt like it still needed a bit more shine to tie it all together.  So guess what?  I added Gold Foil layers beneath the DSP and Whisper White layers.  This made it!  [did my “happy chair dance”  Lol!]

I love me some embossing so I used one of my “go to” techniques……Coordinated Heat Embossing.  You achieve this look by lightly (and I do mean lightly) tap your VersaMark ink pad then ink up with your chosen ink color……mine was Old Olive.  Then I stamped it onto Whisper White and quickly dusted with Clear Embossing Powder.  After heating to a gloss I fussy cut, leaving a narrow white edge.  This layered onto the Gold Foil Snowflake with one flake tip cut away so the shape was slightly oval……perfect!

A peek of gold is a great pairing with the Old Olive and Whisper White.  The Gold Foil Snowflakes are to die for!  They are gold on one side and silver on the other.  You really should give them a try.

This stamp set helped me to keep my designs clean and simple with just a perfect amount of shine.  Woohoo!  Thank you for stopping by today.  Have a great weekend and get creative!

One Wild Ride, Enjoy the Ride

One Wild Ride, Enjoy the Ride

Today I’m finally sharing the final May Card Class design.  May is my “all the the guys” month.  We all need cards for those boys, guys, men and dudes in our lives.  I finally used my One Wild Ride stamp set and didn’t use the motorcycle, that was my goal.  My mojo has been under the weather lately so I came across this design on Pinterest and found it interesting.  I CASE’d (copy and selectively edit) it from Ann Clemmer design.  Thank you Ann!

A few things I selectively edited were the Smoky Slate base, Faux Suede Real Red strip, One Wild Ride stamp set, and finally Red Glimmer & Silver Foil stars punched from the Confetti Stars Border punch.  It ended up being a “make it work” moment for me once I started building it.  (grin)

BASE:  The base starts with Smoky Slate instead of Basic Gray.  [TIP:  I wanted to use textured cardstock from my “retired stash” but I had used it all.  8-(]  The base was layered with squares of Designer Series Paper from Urban Underground.  (shiny element #1)  If you don’t have this SDSP you can use any paper that is gender neutral.

This is were I made it work.  I didn’t have the red ribbon so I cut a Real Red strip and used the Faux Suede Technical to give the strip subtle texture.  It may not be shiny but there is enough with other shiny elements.  Finally, the larger square was popped with Dimensionals to add height.

SENTIMENT:  The “Enjoy the Ride” stamp from the One Wild Ride stamp set is more open so I used the opposite color Real Red and heat embossed in Black.  (shiny element #2) It was then punched with the Best Badge punch that was popped with Dimensionals for even more height.

To finish things off I added Red Glimmer and Silver Foil stars in varying sizes from the Confetti Stars Border punch.  This made it easy to add more shine/sparkle (shiny element #3).  Woohoo!

I hope you have a great day.  Until next time keep on stamping!
