Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Congratulations

Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Congratulations

Today is my third post featuring the Happy Birthday Gorgeous Stamp Set.  It was actually my first design but I had to retake the pics as they didn’t look as good as I had thought.  When I first looked at the Happy Birthday Gorgeous set a wreath with flowers came to mind.  What actually came to mind was a wedding card in all white with the wreath in Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer and lightly colored flowers.  It didn’t quite work out as I had envisioned, but I am super happy with this end result AND it could be for just about anything.  Woohoo!

BASE:  I did start with Whisper White for the base.  Next I layered it with a square of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer and then Textured Basic Black (vintage).  I popped the glimmer layer with Dimensionals. [Sparkle layer #1]

WREATH:  I created the wreath with 12 leaf/stem pieces from the Everyday Jars Framelits.  I ended up trimming some of the stem away so it would look more rounded.  I used mini glue dots to overlap the stems and circle around to create the wreath shape.  [Sparkle layer #2]

FLOWERS:  With the wreath finally done I got to work on the flowers and ended up with silver embossed flowers stamped with Melon Mambo and Pink Pirouette.  [Sparkle layer #3]  I did fussy cut the large flowers and then punched the smaller centers with a 3/8″ circle punch.  To make it easier on myself I used mini glue dots to build the flowers and then placed them around the wreath with mini Dimensionals.  Finally, I added a small rhinestone to the center.  [Woohoo!  Sparkle layer #4].

SENTIMENT:  I stamped the “Congratulations” from the Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set onto a 1/2″ Whisper White strip with Smoky Slate ink.  To give the strip an undulating look I ran each end through my fingers making the ends curve slightly.  Next I placed 3 stacked Dimensionals at the center [TIP:  Color the sides of the Dimensional stack with a black sharpie to make it less noticable.]  Then I placed it into the enter of the wreath and mini glue dos on the curved ends.

Here is a close up of the wreath and flowers.  I had a hard time getting the glimmer paper to sparkle so I zoomed in, that way I could show you all that sparkle.  [smile]

I’m super happy with how it turned out even though it may not have been what I had envisioned.  Sometime you just have to roll with how a design wants to go.  I hope you enjoyed today’s post.  Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you have a stamping-ly wonderful Monday!

Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Gorgeous - Happy Birthday

Today I’d like to share my second design featuring the Happy Birthday Gorgeous Stamp Set.  It is a great set that includes a variety of floral and balloon images as well as loads sentiments.  This happens to be the third design I created because I had several (and I do mean quite a few – Lol!) embossed flowers laying on my work space from my two previous designs.

I also like to give myself little challenges when designing and stamping to see what I can create that may be outside the box for the stamp set I’m working with.  This is something right up that alley, the flower “petals” are actually balloon shapes that I punched out with the coordinating Balloon Bouquet Punch.

BASE:  As the “pink” flower center was the focal point I wanted to highlight, I did my best to keep the “background” as neutral as possible.  The base starts with a 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ card size in Basic Gray.  Next I layered with a Smoky Slate square topped with a slightly smaller Whisper White square.  The Whisper White was stamped with “Happy Birthday”, also from this stamp set”, in Smoky Slate ink.  Then I popped the Smoky Slate square with Dimensionals. (Gotta have “more height”, yeah baby!)  Even though the Smoky Slate is a light gray I wanted it to be even more subtle.  [I tried stamping off first which made the words too light and not “solid” enough for me.]  Finally I added another layer, Vellum.  It let the “background” shine through but toned it down just enough.  (Woohoo!)  [TIP:  I placed adhesive in the center to hold the Vellum so it wouldn’t show through.]

FLOWER PETALS:  Trying to keep things as neutral as possible I (of course, giggle) stamped the dotted balloon shape onto Silver Foil and then heat embossed with Silver Emboss Powder.  Silver on silver……Love it!  I punched the petals with the Balloon Bouquet punch and forming the circle of petals in which to place the flower center.  Yes, I popped the petals with Dimensionals.  (Woohoo…”more height”)

FLOWER CENTER:  As this was the focus of this design, I of course had to emboss.  [smile]  First, I stamped the solid floral image onto Whisper White with Melon Mambo and Pink Pirouette ink.  Next I stamped the “outline” image onto the solid image with VersaMark ink and heated with my Heat Tool to get the cool raised silver outline.  [TIP:  Make sure you tap and wipe your image with an Embossing Buddy before stamping the outline image.  So the embossing powder will only stick to the stamped image.]  Then I fussy cut the larger flower, popping it with yet another Dimensional.  Finally I punched the flower center with a 3/8″ Circle Punch and popped it with a Mini Dimensional (yes, we now have Mini Dimensionals……Woohoo!) and small Rhinestone.

SENTIMENT:  Even though the background says “happy birthday” I wanted to make a obvious this was a birthday card.  [grin]  So this meant I also stamped the “happy birthday” onto the Vellum with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with Silver Emboss Powder.  This sentiment is included in the Happy Birthday Gorgeous Stamp Set as well.  Wowzer!

OH, I almost forgot!  Here is a peek at the inside.  I’m trying to include something on the inside as well with my designs.  It doesn’t always happen, but hey, I’m trying.  Lol!

There ya have it.  I was able to use pieces I had laying on my work table AND using other image in a “not expected” way……Sweet!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have a stamping-ly wonderful Friday and weekend.

Flourish Thinlits, Faceted Gems Flowers

Flourish Thinlits, Faceted Gems Flowers

When I first saw the new Faceted Gems I instantly thought of sparkly flowers.  After I set a gem in the center and surrounded it with rhinestones I was over the moon.  [happy chair dance ensued!!!]  This Flourish Thinlits Faceted Gems Flowers wedding card certainly covers the sparkle factor.

I felt the sparkly flowers needed a design that was clean and simple but strong.  So I thought a wedding card would be the perfect fit.  What do you think?

BASE:  I started with a Whisper White base.  Then I layered it with Whisper White backed with triangles of Silver Foil at opposite corners.  I think the silver triangles give a modern feel against the “flourish” flowers.  AND I had to pop it with Dimensionals to add “more height”.  [smile]

FACETED GEMS FLOURISH:  I love the clean and simple look of the “Flourish” from the Flourish Thinlits Die Set cut from Silver Foil.  It’s so swirly.  [giggle]  The flowers were started with a 3/4″ Silver Foil Circle, next a faceted gem placed in the center, then surrounded with rhinestones.  I know……cool!

SENTIMENT:  When I was perusing my stamps for a “wedding” sentiment I found this sweet one in the Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set.  It felt perfect for a wedding card and fit just right on the 3/8″ banner.  To add another layer of sparkle I silver embossed the sentiment and popped with Dimensionals to add just a bit “more height”.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you enjoyed today’s sparkly flourish thinlits faceted gems flowers wedding card.  Woo……that was a mouthful.  Lol!

Basket Bunch Bundle, Thanks a Bunch

Basket Bunch Bundle, Thanks a Bunch

Nothing says Spring like daffodils.  This fun and bright “spring” design features the Basket Bunch Bundle.  It is another design from my April Card Class.  I just love it’s bright and sunny color palette [Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo, Pear Pizzazz and Soft Sky].  I was perusing Pinterest and came across my inspiration for this CASE’d design.  Yes, I was inspired to “copy and selectively edit” this spring-y design by Michelle Gomez.  The Basket Bunch Bundle is great because it covers all manner of spring flings……Easter, Spring and chicks man, chicks.  Lol!

BASE:  First it starts with a Pear Pizzazz base.  Next I added the Flirty Flamingo layer, this adds a nice frame effect.  Then I topped it with (vintage) Textured Blushing Bride for a subtle bit of texture.  Fortunately I had just enough for my class stampers.  Woohoo!

SENTIMENT:  I also added a Flirty Flamingo layer behind the Whisper White for that nice framing effect and an extra punch of color.  The Whisper White rectangle is sponged with Soft Sky and Pear Pizzazz to become a soft background for the “Daffodils” and “Thanks of Bunch” both from the Basket Bunch stamp set.  There is also a “Grass” stamp that I stamped several time along the bottom to ground everything.

FLOWERS:  I had to put my big girl pant on to do the coloring on the flowers and leaves.  (smile)  The “Stem” was stamped onto the sponged rectangle three times to create the stems.  Then I stamped the “Daffodil” three times and the “Leaf” four times onto Whisper White cardstock with Memento Black Ink.  The leaves are colored with Pear Pizzazz and the daffodils with Flirty Flamingo and a touch of So Saffron for the centers.  The coolest part is the Flower and Leaf were die cut with shapes from the Basket Builder Framelits Die Set.  Woohoo…no cutting (unless you REALLY want to!)  “More height” number two is popping the “Daffodils” with Dimensionals.  Ooh…..I almost forgot, I added a touch of Clear Wink of Stella to the center of the Daffodils to add my all important sparkle.  (smile)

Finally, to give the feel of “a bunch of flowers” I wrapped the rectangle with 3/8″ Taffeta Flirty Flamingo Ribbon before popping with Dimensionals.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you have a great Memorial Day Holiday weekend and get to relax and stamp too.

Thoughtful Branches ~ Four Seasons

thoughtful-branches-4-seasons-736pxl

This limited time only bundle Thoughtful Branches was truly an inspiration all on its own.  I started with the Side-Step Apple Trees design, then having the ring of leaves left on my work table I just couldn’t bring myself to recycle it.  So, after several days I had my “A-ha” moment and saw it as a wreath.  Sweet!  After creating the “Summer” and “Christmas” design I said “well heck I might as well make something for Spring and Fall.  After several days of trial and error I rounded out this  fun Four Season set of designs.  I offered a tutorial which included all four designs to my customers when they purchased the bundle.

I enjoy having a great way to be creative and share what I love.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I had designing them.

I have a sparkly Monday!  Thank you for stopping by today.
